I keep seeing more and more we accept EBT signs.
More disturbing is there is a spreading welfare culture and sense of being owed.
YouTube is full of welfare videos glorifying not working and getting it for free.
This is not a good trend.

I'd like to have the choice to who would receive mine instead of the the gov't giving it to some sorry, lazy, jerkweed who's to sorry to get out and try!
Just send me your tax dollars, and we will cut out the middle man that makes the foodstamps, it's a WIN-WIN !!

What is a EBT?
Electronic Benefits Transfer.
It's too traumatic for the user to use food stamps you see.......so they must be issued an EBT card.:bigcry:

Here in Illinois we have the LINK card. Basically a debit card that the state puts money on for those less fortunate. AHEM. Anyway, when I worked at a casino there was a big scam going on with emplyees there buying LINK cards off of customers for pennies on the dollar so the customers could gamble. The Staties just shut down a store around here that was doing the same thing for its customers. I think that its a good program for some people but the system needs to be revamped. To much abuse.

There recently was an elderly man here in Toronto, that was in a wheelchair. He required one of those big electric ones due to his illness.
Because he was on old-age pension, the government stopped suplimentary money for the thousands of dollars for his chair to get repaired (as his died). The suppliment was 75%. How the hell is he supposed to work for the chair repairs now - in his condition/age?
Here's the other kicker.
The government itself said on the news that "if he was new to the country, he would recieved 50% suppliment"!
Needless to say the public outrage was huge. People donated their own money to replace his chair.
Cheers to all those people; but they shouldn't have to.

I don't know if we get more benefits there than here, remember, we have california, minnesota, and the east coast here to compete...
Free healthcare - we have obamacare.
Free housing - we have section 9 housing.
Free cars - we have that in Massachusetts
Free AAA in case your free car breaks down - see above
Free cell phones - have that in plenty of states.
Unemployment benefits in case you're out of work for 2 years - check.
Electronic direct deposit food stamps - check.
Food stamps that can be used at restaurants - check.
Free utilities - check.
and I wouldn't be surprised if you can't somehow get free internets and cable tv or at least some kind of assistance... :o

The best part is people willingly threw away money to do this (since the incentives came from tax dollars). Just another "share the wealth" program that had an added perk:
The used car market has become more expensive because there are fewer (at least by some margin) lower-price cars available. If it went on much further or allowed for a broader range of cars to be submitted, the hit to the used market could've been so much that a large market segment of used-car buyers would've effectively been forced to buy new cars instead. Indirect automaker stimulus?
I know I'm getting into conspiracy theory stuff there, but seriously, is ANYTHING really that much of a stretch any more?
