I've realized that a lot of people on this site have DD's (except for motorhead350:beer:) and try to limit the amount of miles on their MM. I have a 2000 Town Car, and the only similiarities between that and my MM is they both have four doors. Just out of curiousity, how did you go about selecting your DD? Did you have it before your MM? Are you trying to be more practical with regards to fuel etc? Maybe drive a truck for work? I am asking because although I love the Town Car, I'd like something a little more similiar to the MM to drive daily and be compareable in enjoyment i.e. Dodge Charge, Chrysler 300 or even a Crown Vic LX Sport. I'm currently in South Carolina, but moving back to New England within the next 20 months, so I think a truck would be the most practical. I'm just trying to get some ideas from people with similiar interests, thanks.

I think there are a lot more DD MMs around than you realize. Bought mine as a DD for 6k. Worth every penny! As I'm going up in power quite a bit now, I may get a new DD and park her for the winters.
Oh! It's not too bad btw, I drive 2.2 miles to work and 2.2 back ed.

Our usual DD is a 09 Honda Civic but we're letting my sister in law borrow it for a couple months. Picked it because it's a well built car that gets great gas mileage and I can drive it 200,000+ miles without feeling like it's going to fly apart. Right now daily driving a Toyota FJ. It's been lifted and has larger tires so it gets terrible gas mileage so it's a terrible DD!!!

My DD is a Dodge Magnum.
I chose it because I'm a musician in my spare time (actually a second job), and it was reallly practical for hauling around all my drums. It also looks pretty cool for a station wagon.

Except for when I'm at home, the MM is my daily. At home, I try to use the F "tooFiddy". The truck was bought just for that, it's a truck that can haul, go through snow, large puddles or off road to the clam beds. It's up high enough that I feel comfortable to take it out on New Years Eve. I figure any drunk that head-ons me will only clean off the bottom of the oil pan.

I needed something safe, dependable with decent mileage and a good service record.

2008 Fusion.

Could not be happier with it.

Despite what Motorhead will tell you, this is a very subjective thing. There are many members that are happy to drive their MM as much as possible, and others that want to preserve it and drive it as a weekend warrior. It all comes down to having peace of mind. For me, my Marauder is actually my DD and my 5.0 Mustang is the weekend warrior because that's what makes me happiest.

whatever car you choose as a DD, just make sure you enjoy it as you will spend most of your wheel time in it. So something practical and reliable that accomplishes what you want to get from it is the way to go.

My DD was a 2010dayco Maxima. Very fast for an everyday car sporty with a mean look. I really like the new design it had. You could run it off 93 octane for maximum performance or 87 for moderate performance. I traded it on a 2012 altima for the gas mileage and cheaper lease payment. I ended up putting 22,000 miles in one year on it. Very fun car.

Motorhead and I have never spoke on the subject, I just remember his thread a while ago encouraging memebers to drive their MM's. I like the idea of two performance vehicles ^ i.e the MM and the Mustang and just driving whichever your in the mood for.

Well I'll tell you, that's what makes me happiest. No matter what I choose, they both are go fast options. At the end of the day, it's whatever gives you the greatest peace of mind and allows you to enjoy your Marauder the most

I was looking a 1990 Mark VII LSC clone. It may still be on the table after some bills are paid.

I bought mine as a DD with 40k miles on it. I put about 110k more miles on it before retiring after I bought my 08 Taurus.

My daily driver is a '03 Focus with the old SPI motor. Slow as hell but gets good mileage for my daily commute.

I used to drive it to work more but I feel bad driving it in rush hour. A Marauder should have a nice open freeway to play on, not stuck in stop and go traffic.

Plus $4 for premium gas would cause me to go broke.

I'm pretty familiar with the 90-92 LSC (I like the interior in the later models) but whats the clone? Do you use a Bill Blass edition? I love the old Mark VII's "The Rich Man's Mustang"
