I don't understand the hate for the AMC Eagle; that car has always looked legit to me.

Some of those cars were built strictly for fuel economy-they were never meant for any type of style. The Yugo was cheap and got good fuel mileage. The Asstek had to be the worst of the lot!

At Tower Shops, there is an old man with a mint brown '74 Matador X Coupe.

"Drowning Mona" holds the record for the most Yugos used in one movie.

Bad list IMHO. The Matador looked pretty cool when it was new (and not that bad to my eyes now), the Yugo is just a small Fiat coupe and looks ok to me and I agree the AMC Eagle I always thought was a pretty cool design (and waaay ahead of its time). This list was made by some youngster.

Few comments.

I guess whoever picked the 58 Edsel never saw a 1958 Oldsmobile, IMHO, a major styling downer from a classic 1957.

But, if you had to stone an Edsel, stone the 60 model with a make-believe Edsel grille stuck in the mouth of an otherwise nice looking Galaxie.

As for the Matador, I always liked the styling of the 57 Ford, except for the front.

Put squared off eyebrows on the Matador and you've got a similar look to the front of the 57 Ford.

1958 (Ford) Edsel Citation

The Edsel brand was envisioned as a step above Ford (http://comcast.vehix.com/new-cars/new-car-research/ford/) and a step under Mercury (http://comcast.vehix.com/new-cars/new-car-research/mercury/). Given its design, it became an instant joke for good reason. Look one up and have a gander at the giant, bass-like mouth and the up-and-out placement of the headlights. I honestly think the designers wanted to find the ugliest design language of the day and sell it through a respectable parent company. In our eyes, they succeeded.

Some of the cars listed aren't ugly, just have individualistic styling. The 2 ugliest designs of all time (and I think the same team designed both!) #1 they listed - the Pontiac Asstek, #2 1980 series Caddy Seville!!!! That absolute abortion rear view always looked like a pregnant hippo! Yuk! :(
