That's a pretty good deal considering you have to take a good part of the dashboard to get to it.

If the dash has to come down, it's a deal.
My blend door's been bad on my 94 TBird for years. Some mechanics don't even want to touch it.
Eventually, I do get some heat, but the real pain is the lack of a defroster.
I dropped a dash once myself in an 81 Fairmont to change a leaking heater core. It was a bear. Never again.

Its doable without dash removal, just takes some time and tight spaces. Id say if you don't feel like trying to screw with it for a bit than thats a good deal he's giving ya. Shops around me charge about $300 just for the dash removal and replacement. That doesn't include installing the new actuator or the part.

That sounds like a great deal. I paid significantly more than that!

Don't buy one from Rock Auto. I got mine there, swapped it in and it did nothing! I ended up returning it and buying one from Ford. I'm planning to put it in when it gets a little cooler out. The dash doesn't need to come out completely either. There's a great write-up in the resource room. I also made a tool that helped. I took a chinese socket that fit the screw head and ground a hex on the outside to fit a gear wrench. Jammed it in the gear wrench with a piece of tape to keep it in place Worked great in the tight space.
