A short time ago several members had opted to paint or stencil a Mercury God's head onto their hood liner.
My question is how did it turn out after a month or so?
Although I attempted the task, I was not very successful but I did get a crude outline on the liner with a painted background.
However, my hood liner cracked where the spray paint was applied, to my surprise and chagrin since it was an $82.00 new hood liner.
So, to salvage the liner I elected to cover the previously painted area with painter canvas and using brads fastened my new image to the liner.
A problem however, the coolant fill cap makes an ugly impression and in a short time would cut through the canvas.
That's why I used brads, I can take my new image off for daily driving and put it on for displays.
I will put it on for MV9 show and take it off afterward.
A trusted friend has had a preview but she is sworn to secrecy. Not sure about her truck driving husband.
Regards,
Pat
