Well as you know by now this is my 1st mm and i have a stage 1 kit from d.r.but i dont have a garage and cant wait for summer to sit in mud and try to install this stuff. So does anyone have any trusting experience with a mechanic(s) in these areas. i found a guy Ed (owner) at ecr automotive in passadeena in md.but when i takled to him he only will do the rear adding the 4:10's and sway bar, which brings up another question.can i install the gears w/o the chip until i get the car home or should i install before i take it to him .That's if i take it to him because he was like i never did them before but it shouldn't be a problem .so today im going to go see him. and fell him out before he does anything..Please answer my question as i don't want any problem with my mm...Thankx ...

I know of a fellow in Girard PA., but that is likely way too far across the state for you.

As far as gears w/o chip, yes, you can do that temporarily. I did for two weeks. You must be carefull on WOT's though, as you will hit the rev limiter every time. Your speedo will also be off by about 15%.

You can do the chip yourself, it's really quite easy. Logan has a nice pictoral / instruction in the FAQ somewhere. If you pick a day when some of us are available, you may be able to get a phone walk through as well. I for one would gladly take your call and add advice as you go over the phone.

Mark:

I second what CRUZTAKER said...the chip, plugs, and 'stat are easy to install with ordinary hand tools. Many of us would be glad to help with advice either on the phone, or using PM...and you get the satisfaction of having worked the magic to your car yourself!
