Yeah Detroit! Nice to see new faces in the race.

Bet New York is not a happy place tonight.

Yah! Now if baseball would just bring in a salary cap we wouldn't have to look at the same faces every october!

Well they were at the dance, like every year, but they were just too big money ugly so no one asked them out and left them on the sidelines!

I'm glad to see the Tigers knocked off the Yankees!
Like others said...some fresh faces in the ALCS.

(Also glad that the O's sent the Bosox packing!)

Stop hatin boys. Lol! The reason you see the same YANKEE faces every year is because they play a good game!

But I have to say, I'm glad that it was Detroit that knocked us off and not the stupid Sox :P.

One of the best things they are looking at 6 more years of ARoid at $143 million and 4 more years of Texiera at $110 million and those guys arent worth a darn in the post-season! It would have been nice for Texas to whip their azz again at Yankee Stadium but now we are looking at Detroit and that will be a much tougher series. Im a huge Rangers fan but I have to admit Im really liking this Detroit resurgence with the Tigers and especially the Lions (I still remember Ray Nitzke's ugly mug!) ALCS here we go.

Sorry Ma'am, but that's the truth. My Rays made it as far in the playoffs as the Yankees did, on ONE THIRD the salary...

Yeah it not about "hatin the Yankees" but more about attitude:0

Big bucks don't always win. And besides Detroit need the lift!

I agree! And I'm rooting for them.... now.

I just don't understand why they, the Yankees, are so disliked (for lack of using the word "hated").

But, to each is own.

All in good spirit

I'm a NY Rangers hockey fan and for many years they tried to do what the Yankees do...spend big bucks on established stars but it never worked. Along came the salary cap and this year the team looks the best it has in a loooooong time. Home grown players...love it!

I may actually watch the world series this time. Hopefully my Cubbies do, too, and learn something. :(

Back in the day when there was only one game on TV a week it always had either a New York or L.A. team because of market share so the rest of USA feel's like it was crammed down their throat. (so to speak)

And that is part of where the resentment comes from.

Now that the Yankees have failed, can we get Jeter and/or Rodriquez to give back some of their ludicrous contractual salaries?

Seems only fair to me.

Brewers, Cards, Tigers and my Rangers. Funny, there isnt one of those other teams I dislike. Im sure Im not alone in that Im just tired of Yanks/BoSox/Angels and now the Phils every year with the same ole same ole. Should be some great baseball. Also, with game 1 tonight here in DFW it hasnt rained in months and now it looks iffy outside as I write this. Hopefully the weather will hold off. Play ball!
