Hate to sound ornery and contrary, but 5 to 6 weeks seems reasonable to me. You have to remember a lot of that time is in scheduling transport and delivering it to the dealer.
One word of caution though, check the dealership lot very often when the 5th or 6th week rolls around. Some dealerships receive cars and let them sit for a week before they even realize it was a special order. In 1985 a local Chevrolet dealer received a 4X4 truck I ordered, cleaned it up and parked in out front as a "stock unit". It was 5 days BEFORE I realized it was my truck! I walked inside, grabbed the sales manager by the neck and asked him if he had any intentions of calling me. He said, "Ohh, is that yours?" :)

That's exactly a very optimistic ETA for your Marauder. The wait is going to kill you just like it almost killed me :)
In reality, it literally can be between 5-8 weeks before recieving your vehicle from the date you special ordered it.

Up to this point, you got good advice from Sheriff. Yeah, 4 to 6 weeks is about right, keep in touch with your dealer and salesman, but don't actually come to "touch" in the manner Sheriff suggests. That could require a bail bond fee that is sure to confuse your finance dude...

5-6- weeks is about right.
Now the question is why?
They are in stock almost everywhere in the Phila, metro area.
They are in stock in North Jersey.
If its a personal reason why you special order it then OK!
If not why not have the dealer do a search and get you one ASAP:)

The sales manager was a good friend of mine. Still is. I think. Even though I have been buying a lot of FORDS lately. :)
He lost a lot of my business when they discontinued the large rear wheel drive Caprice 9C1 in 1997 and Impala SS in 1996.

I ordered my '98 WS6 sometime in late March but the system only accepted the order on April 1st (long story, explained elsewhere). The car was built in early June (I was actually at the plant when my car was built) and arrived at ASC on June 23rd (ASC had a mini-assembly line barely 30 minutes away from the GM plant, to apply all the WS6-specific appearance items like hood, decals, badges, air box, etc.). It finally got the ASC treatment on July 7th, back to the factory by the 8th, and at my dealer by the 10th of July.
So 5-6 weeks is NUTHIN'!!!!! ;)
Ironically, the day before the car arrived at my dealer, I had to go out of town on business (Chicago to be precise). So for two weeks, my car would be driven out to the yard, parked under surveillance, then brought inside every night. It was a long 2 weeks for all of us. Total time between ordering and pickup: about 4 months!
But how many folks get to take a photo with their new car before the dealer ever sees it?
At ASC's facility:

That's my car, first on the right in the lineup, ready to be shipped back to the factory for distribution to the dealer.

I ordered my '94 Thunderbird SC on November 2nd of '93. The dealer originally told me I should have it by Christmas; New Year's at the latest...when it hadn't arrived by the week after New Year, I began calling every week and they gave me a different reason for the delay every time: they ran out of transmissions; there was a problem with the transmissions; they needed all the 3.8L blocks for the new Mustangs; they didn't know WHAT the problem was; they would check on it; PLEASE stop calling; we'll get back to you;...the list goes on ad nauseum. It finally arrived on March 11th of '94.
So, to answer your question: no, 5-6 weeks doesn't sound very long at all.
