View Full Version : Pops gets stopped!
Linda and I were on I 94 on our way to O'hare airport on Friday morning. Not far from Gary The Indiania State Police stopped me for speeding. I was going 72 in a 55 zone. :eek:He asked me if I saw the change in speed limit and I said no. Then wanted to know the last time I received a ticket. Its been 20 years. He then checked my license and brought me back a Warning and said please watch the signs. Linda and I grinning thru the whole deal. Guess Indiania does not want old Pops!:D
We are in in Los Angeles now and will be working our way to San Francisco starting Sunday morning. Today we are attending my Aunts 50th wedding anniversary. The time change sucks as it is a 3 hour one. We have been awake since 4 this morning. We left the house at 6 to go to Starbucks to waste some time as everyone else is still sacked out.

That's funny. I was pulled over in Indiana on my way to Louisville earlier this year following 3 other MM's and a slew of traffic.
Have a great time in California.

Glad you dodged that bullet! Eric and I got mailed bt Indiana State Troopers driving a pink Cougar  They weren't nice. In fact we boycotted Indiana for years. LOL Broke down and went to Marauderville in Indy tho! (Well worth it!)
Are you driving up the coast? Try to spend a little time up around Pismo Beach, Shell beach, Avila Beach in the San Louis Obispo area. Just gorgeous! Try lunch at The Madonna Inn in SLO or spend time in Paso Robles for some wonderful wine tasting and amazing Vineyards. If you have time, take a drive up famous Highway 1 for some of the most beautiful coast line anywhere! It's a great area. (My sister lives there. If you want her phone # for more ideas or any questions give me a shout.) You will love the trip! ENJOY!

My sister also lives in that area, Cambria. Stop in a buy a painting. She's quite good. WWW.shirleykirkesmar.com (http://www.shirleykirkesmar.com)

I wouldn't be very nice if I had to drive a Pink Cougar all day, either !!
So did you pay the ticket or just have to buy a bunch of Mary Kay products? ;)
Paula we are going up highway 1. We will take a couple of days to north of SF. Linda has a friend who lives in Sonoma Valley so we will stay with her. Should make a great trip. Thanks for the tips as we are planning the route right now! :)

(shameless exploitation of a captive audience, but hey, I get a commission) Cambria is a great spot right on the coast. Lots of great cafes, shops and boutiques. Eric and I will definately look up your sister next trip!

Thanks for the tips as we are planning the route right now! :) It is a great trip for sure! Those who haven't been there really have something to look forward to. I am so envious! Sonoma is legendary! But try to see some of the wineries in Paso Robles if you get a chance. The Madonna Inn is a landmark and very unusual. Last time we were there we ran into Rosanna Arquet (actress who was at the time romantically linked to Sir Paul);)

Sonoma, was there a couple of weeks ago, still beautiful as always.
HWY 1 is a gorgeous drive. I have done parts of southern California but have driven all the way up to Fort Brag on 1 before -- also beautiful.
I'll keep a look out for you ... If you see a mad man in a blue chasing you down, probably me!
He saw you were elderly & half blind and let you go! :P
