Went to the US131 Drayway in Martin, MI ( www.us131msp.com ) today (29Oct) for the last test-and-tune session of the season.

Had rained the night before, was overcast most of the morning, and chilly (50degrees F) so the start of the session was delayed due to extended track preparation. *They did an OK job (?).

The BUMMER was that the tech' scale was inop' so I wasn't able to get a race weight (with 27gallons of fuel, 100Lb tool box and full-size spare in the bed + DRIVER). http://www.gdmjoe.com/nonono.gif

Not too many participants so was able to do back-to-back-to-back, etc. laps. reaction time .34sec *worst
.13sec *best 60' time 2.3sec *consistently elapsed time (¼ mile) 15.5sec *worst
14.9sec *best
15.0sec *most of the time speed (¼ mile) 89.2MPH *worst
90.8MPH *best http://www.gdmjoe.com/biggrin.gif I be grinnin'!!!!!

Not too shabby for a stock, 1000mile, no-performance-mod's, 5800Lbs+ (guessimate), brick.

AdvanceTrac -OFF- a.k.a. traction control
Tow/Haul -ON- MEANING: O/D -OFF-

a couple of dry hop chirps to (somewhat) clean the tires before staging
left foot on brake, right foot on gas
leave on the last YELLOW
lift left foot and nail the right to the floorboard

-REPEAT-PostScript: My nemesis for the day was a 2010, 20,000mile Taurus SHO. He was in the opposite lane every lap but one. His times were in the 13.8 range, however, always treed 'm. No matter though, at half track the SHO was 2 lengths ahead, however, never pulled any farther away. Meaning: He always won by 2 lengths. Between laps he commented that he was impressed with 5.0L Coyote in the 3ton, aerodynamic-challenged F-150.

Fun times were had by all -AND- now have a base-line.

Those are better times than my MM ever turned when it was stock. I've seen stock SHOs run 13.6.

True that, however, that was with the used 2009 STX 4X4 with a 4.6L 3V that got traded-in earlier this month on the new 2011 FX4 OFF ROAD 5.0L 4V.

ImpalaSlayer - when did you trade in?
05Oct2011.

2009 STX 4X4 with a 4.6L 3V.

2009 22,000mile trade-in + FoMoCo incentives/discounts/rebates/etc. + a few 1000$ = 2011 3miles + HUGE upgrade in luxury and performance.

I'm really curious what my (new to me) truck will run... 01 F250 reg cab v10 4x4 with 4.30s... It sure feels quicker than the marauder, but would probably have 0 traction...

2-3 trucks ago I had an 04 crewcab F150 with the 3v 5.4... that thing was a turd to say the least; couldn't even hold overdrive going up on the hill to Flagstaff while not towing anything... The new lineup of engines in the F150 have left the old mod motors in the dust.

Now if only I could get a V10 based on the coyote - dohc and tivct - and with the 6.2's bore and stroke... :D

Congrats on the runs, that thing is as quick as my old 96 mustang GT auto :D
