It was a very enjoyable time! even with the cold.. speaking of which my car heater isn't working! :( (Thus why I pulled over into a parking lot on the way home to restart the car). The whole way home I had to rely on my heated seat, and thoughts of guspech's warm gloves!

May have been a little light on hardware out there.....but that was some hardware! GSX? Superbird? SS convertible? CrossRam? I'll go to shows out here with 300+ cars and not any 1 of those! Thanks for sharing.

That's cool.
That Superbird was all original. 3,990 miles. Original paint. Even had a dent in the left rear quarter panel. Paint rubbed off sharp edges etc. Bad ass!!

The GSX was an original owner car - refurbished but same husband and wife owned for 41 years. When I was a kid Dukes was the place to go, people would tow race cars there and drive them a block to park, lots of great hardware on the south side of Chicago - the guy in the Superbird hadn't been there since the early 80s that's when it started becoming a Honda etc hangout then it died down. From what I heard last night its back to what it used to be like. For October 29th in Chicago that was a decent turn out, a few more cars came as the night went on.

That's awesome. I was wondering what the dillyo was on the GSX. I've never been to Dukes untill last night. For sure want to go back on a Saturday night again!!
The SS convertible owner also owns the black MM next to it.

That's extremely cool, I am jealous. I hope your new/old cruise in spot grows stronger next year.
An original owner GSX? Talk about a gold mine!

I actually saw coming down the road and to my surprise the driver pulled in. God it looked so awesome on the street instead of a polished no dent trailer queen.

the coolest part is he had the GSX restored but left the original carpet as his daughter used to stand on the hump and its worn down there so he left it as is, the carpeting is mint except for that spot - that's really a cool story

That is very cool about that GSX. I love stories like that, thanks for sharing. Ever ride in it?
My ultimate favorite musclecar ever....1970 442 W30. Long live Oldsmobile!! I dig the Marauder and all but a picture of your W30 next to that GSX, the highest end offerings of each automaker ever, would be awesome!
Thanks for my new laptop wallpaper ;)

thanks, yeah its a bit dirty in the one image but I do drive the kids around in it - that image was at a soccer game - made to be driven.
I've had the car a long time, growing up I never really had a cool car until I got that one - most of my friends always had a muscle car or a new car. I've had a few cool cars over the last few years. It would surprise you some of the cars that guys have and you would never know it.

After watching Sanco rip 'em, I decided to do the same upon my EXIT. So after traffic was cleared or held by the traffic light behind, I lined up straight and true, slight pause, then my tires go on a quick cigarette break, Merideath goes into slingshot mode, and I feel s0 :coolman: as I slow down! Looking at the rear view mirror I say to myself, "Look at all that smoke, I wonder if I left two tire marks (in fear of the one tire fryer), and good thing there was no Police around!"
Enjoying the smoke scene I suddenly see a disruption of my creation, wisking out of the smoke and into the next lane what appeared to be Disco lights ... Oh sh!*, Oh BoY!!! Then came the Who0p-wHo0p the sound of the Police. I immediately pulled over into a parking lot, rolled down my windows, turned on the interior lights, and quick drawed my DL and Insurance from my sunvisors. The spot light breaks and there he is a young black Officer, who approached with a smile and somewhat of a chuckle. In an apologetic tone I said, "Officer I'm s0 sorry and that was s0 wrong of me!" :banghead: When suddenly I hear, "Is everything alright?" I look over and it's four more Coppers, who surrounded my car and just waiting for me me to make the wrong move :gunfire:! Where in the h*ll did they come from!?!
Officer returns my I.D telling me he's used to seeing cars from over there doing that ALL the time when they leave, but he didn't expect to see my Merideath :burnout: do a burn out like that. He tells me, "I'm sure your friends made you do it!" Thanks Sanco, Joey and friends. I told him it was completely my fault and that I was an idiot. He responds back, "Naw, you were jus havin' a lil fun... But we're done for tonight, right?" I promised him I was done! His last words to me were as he walked away while looking over his left shoulder, "By the way nice car and be safe." I replied back, "Thanks Officer and YOU have a safe night!" After feeling like I was sixteen again and my nerves settled, I realized I was in a Dunkin Donuts parking lot and the four Officers who were outside, were inside sippin' on their hot coffee, but were ALL still keeping a close eye on me. I tell ya' I kept to the rules of the road on the way home!
Nice to see the Gang again, let's do it again (except for that part)!

Ahhhh. Such a good story. Funny thing is. It took longer to read it than when it actually happened. From the time you peeled out to the time we hung up our phones.

I hate you... All I get is tickets and warning tickets! They always act like I kicked their kids or something? What happened to good ole tire shredding leaving a show? In Aurora at Swanies (a true drive in food joint like Sonic tried to do but failed) the police either A. Stopped traffic for us or B. (When they were busy) let the owners stop traffic, on our exit... We were allowed by "handshake" one block leaving left or right to go completely BALLISTIC! They went out of business a few years back and hot rodding seemed to die with them. :(
