Hey guys, I have a question. I was kind of discouraged about the deck height issue with the 5.4 block, although i did find some ways around it :). My question is, will a 2003 marauder harness computer and engine just bolt and plug into my vic? basically unbolt my 2V harness and plug in the Marauder 4V harness? If so, then theoretically I could just plug in a marauder harness and ECM, and then swap in the New 2003 cobra engine and reprogram the marauder ECM to recognizes the changes in the 4V engine? OR could I simply plug in the 2003 cobra harness and ECM into my 2002 Vic (dont bother taking the transmission issue into account, if I went to the expense of this swap I would probably go 6 speed).
Thanks in advance guys

I don't have an answer for ya Vic, but I recall hearing something way back when I was researching a purchase, that the motor is offset, pushed back into the passenger compartment to accomodate the DOHC "broadness". Peeking under my duty CV, I can't really say one way or another.

Have you seen the retail for 03 Cobra crate motors? Over $12500...Yuck! Lightning 5.4L's are only $5695...Ain't supply and demand just nasty?

Which at that price, just sell all your stuff and buy a cobra. :)

You can Use the Marauder harness in your 'vic and then put in
the cobra motor... you would have to get a chip to calibrate for the larger injectors and Maf but that is very easily done.

We put a 32v Continental engine in a Town Car before and it fit with no problems what so ever.

Lightningvic,
Try this web site:
http://www.cobrapoweredgt.com/index.html
It details swapping the cobra mil into a Mustang GT but it has good info on the harness mods that may be required.
