What's up with the number of Trophy's by a posters name? is it number of thread related or amount of cash contribution to the site, er um, logan's slush fund?
I only have one stinkin' trophy!?

I read those threads, my 2 cents, i think this is a great site, it's turning into a real business for you Logan, but the number of trophys is a little discriminating, at $50 bucks a trophy, I doubt so many people are paying $250.00 as a donation? according to my $50 per trophy contribution.

The Star/Trophies are rankings.
1 star>100 posts
2 stars > 300 posts
3 stars > 500 posts
4 stars > 750 posts
5 stars > 1000 posts
Trophies are the same levels, only for contributing members.

To be honest, I don't like the trophies. I may do away with them. :) But there's no contribution minimum's or maximum's. The number of trophies is determined by the total number of posts you've made.
As for being a business, well... it's not. It manages to pay for itself but doesn't even begin to approach any type of appreciable compensation for the amount of time I put into the site. But that's ok, this is more of a hobby than anything else for me... I truly enjoy it.
From a post I made in thread #363 regarding the "Trophies"...I think it applies here, as well...
I frankly feel there are 3 important ways to contribute to the site:
The true value of this site is found in the...
Content....the miriad of posts, insights, experiances, "how-to's", etc. posted here make this a very valuable place. One way to contribute is by posting USEFULL threads and replies. That doesn't mean it need to be "all business" here...but...think before you start a thread..."Is this going to enlighten the experiance of owning the car, inform fellow owners...or just give them a chuckle". Nothing wrong with any of those or variance of each...I have seen more and more "useless" threads lately though and as soon as I can figure out how to make the ignore button ignore those threads so I don't have to "weed through them"...I'll be alright.
Support of our Sponsors....whether you buy a Trilogy Supercharger, Stage#? from Dennis, or just a dead pedal from Kenny Brown...you are contributing. I frankly believe there is not 1 thing from any of the fine vendors here that does not belong on every Marauder. Even if you're worried about the dreaded "Warranty" question...there are things here you should buy from the vendors that will have NO negative effect on that. So do some biz with the fine folks we are lucky enough to have supporting the site.
Donations to the Site...it's never been mandatory or thrown in our face...it's just there. And if you feel good about using the resources here be it info in threads, direct responses/help from our sponsors or the shear ability to have access here...and NOT feel you need to kick a little in....then I'm glad I don't have to stare into that face in the mirror in the morning.

I would like to say "Thank you Logan, I greatly appreciated all the hard work you have done." You have brought many people together from across the country and even from Canada, to share expericenes and stories whether good or bad.
Mac; is it time to sing Kumbaya yet?? :D

When I first came here Logan sent me a PM because I posted an ad. I wasn't a contributing vendor at the time. I asked him how I could be. He asked me to send a donation. No amount was ever stated. I sent what I felt was fair. I've probably done about 3k off business with you guys and retained about a 10% profit. Not big bucks but found business I would have never had without this site. The amount I money I sent was trivial compared to what we spend elsewhere on advertising. Thank you Logan. Ray

I don't care if Logan makes 100k off this site. He deserves it. He had the idea, and went through with it. He spent his own money to do it and gave us a place to come, gather the finest imformation available, make new friend and share a common interest. If he didn't do that where would we be, at the bar spending money?
Some people seem very jealous of others. I've worked at this dealership for 35 years, the owner has been here for 15. He's younger than me. I live in a 165k house, he lives in a 700k house. I work 65 hours a week, he works about twenty. Why, becausse he had the balls to put everything he worked for on the line to buy this place. He sold his house and moved into an apt. He remortgaged his parents house. If he failed, he would have been financially devestated.
Who's fault is that, mine for not having the balls to do what he did. Some of the employees complain that the owner is never here. That's what he pays us for, so he doesn't have to be. They complain that he bought a new Harley when he already has two. He should be able to.
For the first ten years he worked 80 hours a week to get this place the way it is today. He earned it. So did Logan. If it wasn't for Logan developing this site, I wouldn't be here and you guys would more than likely be paying list price at you local dealer for parts. We get discounts because of this site.
Some people bet on sports, some go to the bar. How much do you spend being on here?? It's free, except if you want to donate. People blow money on junk that they can't even remember. To donate here you are getting something for your dollar, a place to hang out with good people and enjoy a mutual hobby.

Now now... Darebren's intent was just not understanding how the whole trophy thing worked, I know he loves me. He told me so just the other day. ;)
I wish I was stuffing my pockets though...But the reality of it is 90% of the cash gets put back into the site buying spiffy new servers, upgrading bandwidth, software and chucking a couple bucks at my trusty sidekick for a job well done.
I ain't in it to get rich, that's for sure!!
It's all good, I'm happy so should everyone else be (despite all my little glitches with the new site...)

I was embarrased by Dare's comment. And somewhat put out at the accusation.
The smiley was more inconspicuous than a comment, but since you asked...
