My buddies and I have an annual tradition of going out for our last fishing trip of the year during the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend.
We headed out yesterday during unusually warm weather for late November.
Luck was on my side as I caught 5 nice Rockfish including one rod buster.
That fish went 38 inches and 27 Lbs!

Running north from the Bay Bridge:

We also were treated by Mother Nature to one of the most incredible sunsets I've ever seen!

Damn Joe, nice catch. Betcha he tried to take you off the boat. "Red Sky at Morning -- Sailors take Warning. Red Sky at Night -- Sailor's Delight". Beautiful.

My nephew went out on Friday and hooked several big ones before 9:00 AM. The Rockfish must be running strong this year. Here's his catch ...

How did you cook the fish that's a huge one !! Being a chef I know that fish would cost around 100-150 from the PFG order guide

Since Joe Walsh has not responded to the fish fry post I can only think he is selfishly hoarding it all for himself...........;)

Party at my house.....Yes!
Fish fry for that big boy.....NO!
Hoarding all that delicious Rockfish....Yes!

The filets off that Rockfish were 2" thick.
I cut them into more manageable 'steaks' and froze most of them.
Sunday night we baked 4 big 'steaks' in the oven.

-Coated the fish steaks in melted butter
-covered them with sliced mushrooms
-topped that with a chopped tomato/chopped green onion/crushed garlic mixture
-sprinkled that with fresh grated Parmesan cheese
-bake at 350 degrees F for 25-30 minutes.....

Fantastic tasting flaky white fish!!!....

My stepson commented on how we would have paid $125+ for that meal at a restaurant.

I cut up some of the smaller pieces into chunks and this weekend I'm cooking up a stew pot full of Cioppino.

You sound like my brother...he hates mushrooms and yells:

"There's fungus among us!!" when he sees them in any cooked dish.

My house is way too small to hold a healthy CAM meet....
We should have another CAM meet at G&M restaurant for some awesome crabcakes.
I suggested the last G&M meet and then had to miss it!!!.....DOHHH!!

And don't think we didn't take notice of that. :P That was 3 years ago, too (22 November 2008).

I think Freddie is more southern Delaware. Possibly we could try a meet around Dover, in middle of Delaware, or Wilmington, which is more north. that could be a mid-point for many of us.

Freddie, any ideas around Dover???
