I had to park my truck on a hill tonight for work so I put the E-brake on I said to myself ......whens the last time I put this on. Worked my shifted and took the brake off took me some time to pull it off when I dis the light did not go off . I looked under my truck pulled a little on the brake line and it turned off .

Drove home but felt like the brakes were a little on was not a nice ride home .

What should I look for or do in the am ??

Use it more often and it should free itself up over time. Don't set it as tight as it will possibly go at first.

Yes, use it more often.

You can try some PB Blaster on the cables.

What year make and model? Does it have rear disc brakes with integral drum for parking brake? Rear drum brakes? All questions that need to be answered before an assessment of issue can be given.

I think parking brake is to the back brakes only

Parking brakes are almost always on the rear.

Rebuild rear brakes including backing plates. More than likely there is wear on backing plates causing the shoes to hang up and not release properly. At the same time replace the parking brake cables that go from drums to the adjustment T. That's what I'd do.
Or...use wheel chocks
