Car 2 weeks over due for delivery. Dealer checked on status and cars are all sitting in St. Thomas, Canada due to weather and shortage of train cars. They do not have a shipping date. Does anyone have any info on this situation? We ordered the MM the middle of November and are really anixously awaiting delivery.

Hey Bruce- Sorry to hear about the delay. I'm living through the 10 inches of snow here that's delaying your car! I can't get shipping info (maybe STAPrap or someone else can). However, I might be able to help another way.

Here's my idea: I'm two hours from St Thomas, so I'll just pick it up and drive it down to Arizona for you! (I'm going to Phoenix soon anyway!)

What sheer luck for both of us- I'd be honoured if it was my mission, should you choose to accept it. (Want references?)

That is the attitude which contributes to our reputation of Canucks being friendly, honourable people.

I bow to your selflessness. :bows:

Been there done that. My car was lost for threee weeks last March due to a snow storm. I kept calling the dealer asking where was my car, he kept calling Mercury and they had no answer. it will show up one day just wait til the snow melts.

Thank you for your offer. We may have to consider that.
Is the snow still has bad? Do you know if the cars that have been built and ready to be shipped out, are kept out in the weather or are they stored inside? If they are kept out in the snow for a long period of time, does it harm the car in anyway? Thanks again. Have a Great day!

Snow is just small particles of dirt with ice crystallized around it. So the car will get dirty, that's for sure. But they get dirty during shipping anyway, winter OR summer. I can't speak for St.Thomas (never visited it) but every other plant I've seen or visited, the cars are always stored outdoors. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Unfortunately, the Marauder's are kept outside as that was a question that I asked the Ford regional rep during the dark days when they couldn't find my car. As far as the shortage of rail cars is concerned, that's actually a very real problem as shipments of vehicles from STAP has been seriously delayed. When I was at my dealership yesterday, I asked them how things were shipping and they said that it was terrible as anything being shipped from up there was way behind schedule in arriving because of the shortage of rail-cars as explained by Ford to them. What you might be able to do, is tell your dealer that the wait is unacceptable and ask to speak with the regional manager in your region. From there, tell the regional manager that the wait is unacceptable and they should be able to "red-flag" your Marauder so that it ships out on the next available rail-car. On an interesting note, a brand new black 04 Marauder just arrived at the dealership and they are confused because they said that they did not order any more Marauder's for this year, and this thing just showed up out of no where. You didn't order a black one, did you??? :)
