I'm surprised that this hasn't happened to some of us yet. I've been on several of those MM convoys at different events where this could've easily happened to us. Glad it didn't.
This sucks.

we just drive better
Thats why when you convoy youre supposed to do it in the SLOW LANE and drive BELOW the speed limit.
I'm sure these guys weren't doing 45 mph! Not with that type of damage!
Unless all the drivers were asian!

Still, this is no worse than a racing shunt. Modena will have these restored to showroom new in no time (but at a whole lot of money).

It was raining - bummer, I feel for them as good as those cars handle once they are out of control that's it. They may have been going quick but I wouldn't doubt they were driving reasonable for the conditions, who knows what happened, fortunately no one died.
apparently the lead car lost control and the domino effect spread... i feel bad for the prius driver :bandit:

Owners of uber-cars like those are not known for safe and courteous driving. Although I'm glad no one was killed or seriously injured, that's the extent of my sympathy.

About 3.8 million in damage according to areport I read.
Driver's were between 37 & 60.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the hardest workout my brakes get is at a Marauder gathering.

Its quite simple really. MM drivers just drive better.
Who cares. They are imports.

I saw an accident like that here in Memphis a number of years ago...we hosted a National Street Rod Association convention/meet here. I was watching a group of about 10 cars following each other down a street near the fair grounds and sure enough one had to make quick stop and four of em piled into each other.... really sad sight...:(

That's what they get for driving on the wrong side of the road!

I have given this some thought, and looking back on the 7 years I have been a member...
I cannot recall of a fender-bender occurring in one of our convoys?
Perhaps close calls, but not trading paint, so-to-speak.
We are in fact, a mature bunch of folks that drive what appears to be Police Cruisers. Maybe people tend to pay more attention to us because of that?
I dunno??
A LEO told me a few years back prior to us departing under an escort, that we have so many cars, we would have to take it easy and travel below the speed limit in order to keep us safe.
Anything can happen, and even though I have been told I make it look easy, there is a lot of tension and nervousness when I take a gander in my mirror only to see over 1/2 mile of cars relying on me to get them to our destination(s) safely and without incident.
Let us keep this winning streak going, and everyone be safe out there!

Well said, Mike.
I think another factor is that must of us don't have the ludicrous kind of free cash and fleets of lawyers on retainer that people who drive those cars do, so we're more concerned and careful with our (and others) property.

Okay, if I remember, we had what, 60 or 65 Marauders at MV IX and I did not hear of anything going wrong with all of our convoys to the various events....... if you are paying attention while driving there should be no "accidents"?????? My opinion is we all care about each other's Marauders and watch out for them!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the video in the original link the reporter stated they were doing 150kmh or 90 mph.

From the people who brought you "Fast and FuriUUCCCK, dammit, my Corvette!" comes the not anticipated sequel "Fass an Ferrari-ress: Tokyo Driff. Into another rane. Smash into Ramboghini."

Just keep on passing back the directions and lane changes through the FRSs.

I'm guessing the lane change that caused it was a black one came up on a slow moving red (read DTR) and caused it.

Hi all,
I attended Marauderville IV in Kissimee, FL and we convoyed all the way from the motel in Kissimee to Gainsville where the drag strip was on the Friday. No problems at all (except for that guy's blown motor on the Florida Turnpike.) It was all very orderly. There was a bit of spirited driving on the way back in a smaller group, though. Still no problems. On Saturday we convoyed to New Smyrna Speeday and it was a bit quicker! Still no problems except for the guy on the way back that would not get out of the way! A Silver Birch with brake light strobes in the tag area finally took care of that one. I still remember being one of the "Lucky 13" that got to drive around the track. Great fun!
