Most car marques can be easily recognized by their emblems. But some model lines have their own emblems, too. The Mustang (http://www.autoblog.com/ford/mustang) stands out as a clear example, and now Ford (http://www.autoblog.com/ford/) is projecting that image even further. And we mean that quite literally.
For the new 2013 Mustang, Ford has fitted a tiny projector lamp into the side mirror that casts the shape of the galloping horse logo onto the ground beside the vehicle when the driver unlocks the doors. This illuminated "Easter egg" seems simple enough, but apparently it took Dearborn's engineers quite a while to get it just right, going through six or seven designs before managing to get it to work.
The result was apparently so captivating that it shut down Ford's Flat Rock assembly line when one of the auto workers hit the button and everyone came to look. We'll be interested to see it for ourselves when we get our hands on the new model. It might be purely aesthetic and almost entirely without function, but something tells us this could be one of those new gimmicks – like, say, illuminated sill plates or ambient cabin lighting – that we may see proliferating across the industry.
Ill take mine with the Gods head logo please. ;)

Why would you want your Marauder to project a Mustang light beam?

That would look sweet with a gods head or "MARAUDER".
If it could be done I'm sure it would be obscenely expensive.

If you had the time , I mean all the time you wanted, I am sure you could come up with a way and the emblem that would be the cats axxxx..........as they say..............you have the ability--just not the time----much to unfortunate with all the talent you posses.............oh well...maybe in your next job--after retirement--thats the ticket-----

I'm going to attempt this. It may be simpler then it looks. I have clear mm.net stickers Ill play with lighting up with LEDs and see how it casts on a wall.

I bet that they make those for the new Camaro....only it shines the outline of a mullet on the ground.

Friend of mine bought a lazer pointer with assorted caps that displayed up to 10 different designs. The concept is the same. The pointer was slightly longer than the AA battery inside.
I agree, we'll probably start seeing these on the aftermarket soon.

Actually I think it be way cool:up:
I mean I am sure the marauder owner will have a 100% control over when it is used.
Now a ride down the interstate at night might be a problem:lol:
looks cool to me, maybe it could project onto the door just above the door moulding. . .
