Get a MOTORCRAFT replacement good for 92-2011 Will need to drill out some 1/4" rivets
Town car procedure Marauder similar, the newer cars have holes to access the motor to regulator bolts so you dont need to drill

You don't need to drill anything....
Knock out the shaft of the rivet if it's still there, break off the 3 "legs" from the back of the rivet, pry the rivet out or pop it out with a center punch and hammer. I do it all the time.

Generally, I have drilled out the rivets, removed the glass, installed the new regulator, reinstalled the glass. If you do not have ath heavy duty rivets and riveter, use 1/4-20 x 3/4 hex head SS bolts and lock nuts. These work fine. Usually takes
about 1=2 hours.
Good luck on the project.

You should do a DIY thread when you do it if you do :) lol My passenger front went out just a month ago in mine at 85K miles. :( My 01 & 00 CV both have 135K plus miles and never had a problem. I didn't feel comfortable removing the window etc myself so I paid $325 for a shop to replace my regulator with another ford unit. :(

Yeah don't buy an after market one. I had issues with a Dorman one I bought. It doesn't fit absolutely snug so it gets thrown off the front track sometimes.
