I contacted the people at ClassGlass with an idea of a Ram Air Hood for our cars like the one off the Pontiac WS6 and Impala ss. Told me if i can get 10 buyers they'd make them for $500. Heres a pic of the hood. If you have any other ideas feel free to post. (i used chevys for balance of hood only)

Lol... That was a quick and easy response from them, but how's it gonna look is the real question! I may be interested, but I/we would have to see preliminary versions first! I really wish they angled the end of the cowl hood to match the same angle as the windshield (similar to gdmjoe's), had they done that from the get go I would've been all over it!

Maybe they could do flushed vent breathers on the top side of the hood where cool air enters by the manifold and the hot air exits out the back by the windshield. Similar to the functional version I think of a 67 Mustang, I don't know just a thought!

I think I would actually buy a hood with a subtle 1"-1.5" cowl.

Hey breeze you might want to check with the crownvic.net boys to see if they're interested.

That would probably help you get to 10 quicker!

How about a GT500 style hood, I think that would fit our cars better.

Agreed, but only the KR style.

Not at all a fan of the first one, but the last one might look alright, like the regular wide cowl look more though, that some members have.

I'm pretty sure it would be, there other 2 hoods are.

The 1st and 3rd pic are the same hood just diff angle.

I'd like to see some pics or ideas from you guys, wanna spice the front end up and if we all come to an agreement then maybe start a hood suited for our car using vents, ram air or cowl to bring air in or extract hot air and send it off to them.

Something low key with the heat extractor vents would be awesome. I'd consider it!

How about a low profile cowl induction hood that is as wide as the factory contour lines on the stock hood.

If I was going the WS6 route for a modified hood,
I'd save a lot of money and buy those glue on hood scoops from PepBoys.....They'd look almost as "good" and they would reek of 'kwality'!

The scoop is to far forward. I would like to see it with a bit of flat between the grille and the start of the scoop. Otherwise I like it.:)

I always thought the 03 Mustang scoop would look great on our cars. Raise the whole cowl area by 3/4" but leave the center low and up into the scoop like on the mustangs. Here's a photochop someone did for me

Seems to me the cowl style hood works on the MM is because it starts flat and raises as it gets to the windshield. The MM's front end is very round and it makes putting squarish shapes challenging.

I believe I saw a pic of one of the concept MM's with just vents in the upper corners near the windshield. Anyone have a pic in their stash?

Yeah but the glassclass one is too narrow like a mowmawk on the MM. I figured a wider more low pro one would look better since our cars are wide and all.

I just say a 2 or 2 1/2 cowl with functional rear. If $500 is a good deal

I like the design of Steeda's race cowl hood. It's got an overhang at the rear that gives it some character. I had one on my 2006 Mustang and while driving I could see how the air was diverted into the engine compartment (when it rained) because of the negative pressure at the base of the windshield.

Ugh. For me that is one of the ugliest hood scoop styles ever. Looks like nostrils.

Iam wanting it if 1 it's looks fairly good 2nd has a subtle rise in it. My Whipple is right on the insulator and I dont think it is helping any with heat disbursement of heat. Just keep in mind with functional parts in the hood it's gonna raise the price & unless function works very well it may not be worth it on that air flow will be pulled in the back side with just having a opening. For me just no 2.5 inch cowl raise thank U! each to there own
