I bought the fitzall 220A+ alternator from powerbastards.com (http://powerbastards.com/) Its been installed for about a year and a half but i didnt notice that the plug that goes on to the back of the stock alternator was just chilling there, i was told about it during the install but didnt know enought about engines to really know what it was, i guessing its to the voltage regulator on the alternator. Am i running any risk of blowing something up without this plugged up and is my HO alternator really doing anything without that plugged in............oh BTW 2009 sonata 2.4L GLS

Uh...you've been driving the car that way for a year and a half? Well, if the battery hasn't gone dead or melted down, it must be working.

Put a good voltmeter on the battery terminals...should have approx 12.6 volts. Then start the car...voltage should go up to approx 14 to 14½ volts.

the only reason im really asking is because i have fried two Hifonics BRZ2400.1D's, one before the alternator and big 3, and one after the alternator and big 3, could that plug into the voltage regulator on the stock one????

If I looked it up correctly, you're talking about an amplifier, right? I would guess that any amplifier that claims to be capable of 2400 watts, yet only costs a little over $300 is not going to be a well-designed unit in the first place. It probably doesn't take much over-voltage to damage it. What are you getting for readings on the voltmeter as I mentioned above?

havent had a chance to get a multimeter on it yet, but that amp is CEA2006 compliant and hifonics has been pretty good to me before hand, but could it be that the fuse i have on the power wire letting to much through?? its 250A fuse

well i found a multimeter

12.89V car off
12.9-13.0V at idle
12.2V idle(full AC and HID's)
14.5V at about 1500RPM
14.3V 1500RPM (full AC & HID's)

also noticed that i didnt finish the big three only big 2. alternator to battery & battery to ground, have not been able to find engine block to chassis ground, damn koreans!!

BUMP!! somebody help me, should i just add a capacitor and call it a day

It sounds like the voltage regulator is working properly via those measurements.

Why is the amp burning up? overload circut failure?
Does it have a good ground?

dont know it would go into protect and then i would cut it off and back on then it would start smoking, i opened my last one up and saw 3-4 power transistors fried and burnt so i dont know

If they were the output transistors, then you either have a short in the speaker wiring, or your total load impedance is too low. How many speakers are you driving, what is their ohm rating, and are any of them in parallel (which cuts the impedance in half)?

there are wired down to 1 ohm, dual 4 ohm voice coils on each, when meausured with DMM its .9 ohms

most mono amplifiers are stable down to 1 ohm, there are even a couple out there stable to .5 ohms

also big three was complete, all knukonceptz 0 gauge wire with tsunami battery terminals
