F-104 Starfighter. The first to obtain sustained Mach 2 speed. My all time favorite.

Kelly Johnson one of the individuals responsible for us defeating the Brutal Communist Regime formerly known as the USSR.

Santa got run over by a Starfighter.

It happened one foggy Christmas Eve.

Now you can say you don't believe in the USAF.

But, as for me and Gordon we believe.

The F-104 had lots of nicknames but I liked "an engine with a chair". Last ones retired from the Greek Air Force a few years ago. I think I read someplace the rate of climb on these is better than anything produced today; the problem was they carried very little fuel (wings are only an inch thick in places) so had very little operational time (but great as a pop up interceptor.) In a way they still fly, the U-2 was originally based on the F-104. Thats a great display as well, thanks for posting.
