I want to relocate the battery to the trunk. Want to maintain the group 65 battery. I see in Summit & Jegs havea few some vented some not. I didn't think our sealed batteries could leak fumes. Is vented recomended ? Whatbox is a good choice ? How many feet of wire is needed ?

Is this for your Eaton swap? I was thinking about doing the same, but decided not to, and so far, no big deal; the smaller battery cranks the engine over without any problems, and I didn't lose any trunk space.
Any of the other Eaton swap guys, chime in, especially if you've done a battery relo.

They both sell kits, wire, ends, grommets included, I was going to do this also, and looked into it, they have some plastic boxes that are heavy duty, in black, and red. At the same time I was entertaining the idea of relocating my air pump to the trunk, also using one of these boxes.

Funny just replaced the air pump with Arnott. The battery is next the oem can't last much longer. I want to keep a big battery cleaner engine bay with eaton.

Blue oval.com I beleive it was Id have to check thats were I got mine very good price good looking stainless steel box & lid. One I used was one for Fox body stang so Youll need a longer posiitive cable Other then that It is a very nice kit. I shop around for quite sometime & for price and Quality it was by far best choice. As for relocation I like the fact of gained under the hood space I wished Id done it a long time ago. It was mainly done for the reason of using a canton ice/box I/C resv were battery wouldve been relocated to. Not to mention Just measured it today and it will fit a larger battery which was another thing I insured in choosing one. It will fit a a large 850-950cc amp motorcraft battery. Keep in mind if youre gonna be going to the track you will also need to get a on/off (per nhra) to mount on the outside of trunk somewhere. I have not mounted mine yet but will In near future It has to be in a spot were it can be quickly seen (cannot be hidden) Ive opted to put were lic lamps are in rear applique but far enough out to still be regulation. Did that due to I never cared for the switch being in very plain sight, It's gonna be easily seen but just not standing out like a sore thumb. Ill find the link and post it. Another benefit I didnt even think about when it was done is if I elect to go turbo in future It gives me the so badly needed extra room a good turbo build will require.

Look at the Taylor stainless boxes.
They look neat and clean and are a very good quality.

How many feet of wire do I need ?

Most of the boxes are vented.
We generally spec 20 feet of red and about 4 feet of black cable. That should give you enough to work with.
Most boxes are cented and will be fine in the trunk.
Yes all flooded lead acid batteries will produce gasses, even ones that are "sealed". The amount is pretty minor with a properly functioning charging system and battery.
If you are relocating the battery and you still have the OE I'd get a new group 24 or 27 unit, particularly since that is what most common battery boxes are designed for.
