Well on the way home tonight I hit one of those four legged hairy things. It took out the right headlight unit and tore up the grill and fascia. It doesn't look like the bumper skin was torn.

Sorry to here this Jay.:bigcry:
Get on the grille right away as there are a limited number out there. From what you describe the rest is readily available. Make sure your body shop knows the headlight is specific to the MM and not a GM or Vic light.
Keep us posted:)
Happy New Year to you and the Mrs.

Man that's rough. Glad you are alright and the car is not in too bad of shape. I guess on the "bright" side. You'll have some nice new clear headlights.

Wow, I gotta learn to read the titles better!
I thought it said "I DID PAULA" and expected a lively conversation and maybe some pictures...
But no, it's just about smacking Bambi around.

Nice touch on the blood, guts and fur in the pic. ;)
Let me guess on this one based on what I think I see in the photo. The deer was crossing in front of you ... left-to-right coming from the driver's side of the road. You caught the tail end of the deer taking out the passenger headlight and part of the grill spinning the deer off to the right side of the road. The chunk of deer shown came from his side just in front of the right hind leg. Another 1/2 second, you may have missed him completely. If the deer was coming right-to-left, I would expect much more impact damage and possibly some hood and windshield damage too.
How close is my guess? :)

Yeah Charlie, you basically NAILED the scenario.

WOW. So sorry!! Damage looks familiar.:( My deer bounced across my hood, flew onto the road and spun around, then got himself up and pranced off into a graveyard... But +1 on the new, CLEAR headlight! (And I had them replace the driver's side too.) Grab a grille while you can. I'd get 2 or three! LOL  Glad you're OK!!

Sorry for your loss, hang onto that grille, you have enough teeth to make a badge-less grille. And be thankful that you came away from it without injury.

John,
It's amazing what a single character word "a" can do or not do when you read right by it. LOL myself.
Cheers!

Actually after I realized that the dogs and I were OK, my next thought was "I hope I didn't seriously wound or kill the buck." I was all alone on a very lonely road and didn't want to watch him suffer. I was relieved that he got up and ran off. I like to think he is still out there alive and well.

Got the MM back this past Friday afternoon. They did a great job on it. They replaced the grille, front panel, front right headlight, front right turn signal, and I got a new front left headlight so the front end has a totally new look to it.
Then as soon as we got it home, we jumped into the Jetta and headed down to Virginia Beach for the weekend, and celebrated Denise's birthday.

A few more pics...
Damage to Paula's MM is almost identical. The plastic thing the headlites and front end goodies bolt to on Paula's MM has more damage and the tip of the fender was bent.
Took a look at it the other day and Paula's MM was ready for paint. The front bumper came back and the guy sprayed it SB and it looks great, no more license plate holes. I'll take a run up next week and see if there has been any progress, and report.
Glad to hear your MM is fixed and back home
