I think the new Camaro's are butt-ugly but this is HOT.

With those tires and graphics it shouldn't be called a COPO.

Sorry....As Joe said:

That thing looks even worse than a "normal" Camaro.....:puke:

It looks so chunky, especially with those gun slit windows that are trying to emulate the f*ggly Chrysler 300's gangster look.

Then add in a set of 70's looking Cragars and you have the ultimate macho mullet machine!

There....That's my opinion on the COPO Camaro!

Eh, I agree with others...rather bulky.

They should make that the Z/28 and make a COPO what a COPO was: a chance to get a stripped-down car and add as many go-fast/heavy-duty parts as you want, offered from the factory. And no badging, to keep it interesting. Then I'd be impressed.

I'm actually digging those rims. Something different, even if slightly retro.

Good arguement, damn good arguement.

Well that sucks, so once again the Camaro owner has to buy a Corvette to keep up with a Mustang?

You speak and give details about that awesome specimen as if you have a personal connection to the car (??)

I imagine even those that bleed Ford blue gotta respect that '69 Camaro ZL1.

And let's not forget the Smokey Yunick 302 Hemi 1968/69 Camaro.

Even Yenko had some aluminum 427 blocks made up by Winters Foundry too.

2002 ZL-1 FTW. 600hp 575tq no power adder.

Growing up in St. Louis, most of my friends Dads worked at the auto plants around there, Ford, (which incidentally is where the Marauder was assembled in 1963-65 and in 69-70), Chevrolet and Chrysler.

Anyway.....My Best friends Dad worked at the Corvette Plant, was a "gearhead". He had about eight Chevy muscle cars as I remember, he had one of these....We always tried to sneak it out of the garage, we were 16 at the time. We tried everything, but he would only let us start it, back it out, wash it and wax it. What a machine, the sound alone reverberating in the garage was demonic. We would go with him to MAR (Mid-America Raceway) in Wentzville, and watch him run it. I guess that's what got me into performance cars...........

BTW...he's 81 now and drives a CTS-V, has a mint 63 split window coupe, but the COPO was sold in '79

it is a good attempt to get back in the ring with the cobra jet and direct connection but the graphics are ugly
the only option should be the ugly graphics just like the cobra jet

That's cool, thanks for sharing.

Personally I really enjoy stories like that. People recalling stories of their close encounter with cars that, at the time, just seemed "kinda cool". Not even dreaming that 25-35 years down the road, they'd be the mega-buck SS, R/T, GSX, Boss, COPO, W-Machine cars so desired today.

Boy I'd love to know how much he sold the COPO for in 1979!?!? Talk about kicking yourself!
