I get what your saying Eric. And for newbies like we all were, I need to let you all in on the truth. Most people on this website have never even met face to face. Don't it seem odd that we all know each other so well?? A lot of us have been out to some get togethers and met for the first and only time! A few meet yearly at events and even less members, get out to local gatherings or share supper at each others houses.

Basically, don't feel your walking into a frat house of strangers and we are gonna do some weird hazzing with sheep or Qtips, instead realize it is a continuously added onto brotheren who are always warm welcomed, and will have your back in a time of need, whether car related, work or family. It is rare to see a new member not get automatically hooked.

Funny, but true, the weekend I finally joined (four years after the purchase...) every mod was in Louisville and busy having fun that I couldn't even join up till the following Monday! A few months went by and I met Zack who said "dude, you HAVE to go to Louisville, its the funnest event of the year!" I was hesitant for months figuring I don't know anyone?? But I went, and now that's what I look forward to every year! If Mike ever bowed out (contract stipulates he can not do so without severe trama to the a. Nevermind that, that's just legal talk) I would take over from here with the planning, just like many others I know would!

April 12th. Be there, or miss out, your choice.

As I read both your posts I'm thinking how eloquently they both are presented, so I know you can. What you both say is true about the regional and National meets, once you try one you will want to keep coming to as many as your individual schedule allows.

I am humbled to say the least, at how many people look forward to the Louisville meet each year.

How it all started...

In 2005, MERCMAN posted about another forum visiting Distilleries and mentioned that would be cool for MM.net to set up.

I replied that I lived in Louisville, and Distilleries were not too far from me.

My final reply was.. "OK. I'll bite".

In 2006, I hosted the first Louisville meet, and in attendance were approx. 17 cars and about 28 peeps.

Everyone, myself included, had a wonderful time and thus the beginning of a now annual regional event.

Mistakes were made that first year in planning, and took said mistakes and learned from them.

Each year my goal is to outdo the previous year, and by some miracle, it has worked.

Fast forwarding to last year, this event has more than doubled in size since 2006, and am truly honored in having each and every one of you present.

For the record, Louisville has been a great success due to the attendees, not me.

I have made so many friends on this site, and look foward in making many more movng forward.

Didn't go because I was afraid of the possibility of weirdos, creeps, strangers doing strange things and generally knot knowing what to expect. All of that was confirmed when I went in 08, best time I ever had at any event. I wouldn't miss this event for anything.

Joey's right, Louisville is a blast, if you haven't attended, you're really missing out on a GREAT time.

Word of advice though, proceed very cautiously if Haggis hands you a bottle and says, "here, try some of this..." (Ask me how I know. :D)

Picked up my BLUE in 07. Got a call to get my azz to Kentucky for this shortly thereafter. Didn't go because I was afraid of the possibility of weirdos, creeps, strangers doing strange things and generally knot knowing what to expect. All of that was confirmed when I went in 08, best time I ever had at any event. I wouldn't miss this event for anything.
