This morning at 0745, Ginny and I celebrated 59 years of marriage--miracles do happen. Jan. 7, 1953 recorded a record snow fall (if I remember right--about 10 inches ) with 50 mph winds in Columbus, Ohio. We were both based at Lockborne AFB, she was my nurse when I crashed and injured my back--paralyzed from the waist down--she put me back on my feet and I've logged 22,000 hours flight time since. God blessed us with 3 daughters and a son, 2 grand daughters and a grandson and one each great-grandchildren--all alive and healthy and living within 30 minutes of our home. We are both in our 80s and fairly healthy--looking forward to some more good years. All you young folks out there going through some tough times, please keep your eyes on the future, love and support each other and encourage your children to grow up as responsible, hard-working adults--that's this country's only hope--your children. We hope 2012 holds great things for our MM.net friends and hope to meet some of you folks who have joined us since MV III. Drive carefully, but with gusto !!! Maury and Ginny:burnout:

That's awesome. An amazing feat considering how the world turns these days. Going on 12 years for us and hope to be around for 50+ years of marriage.

Great little story. Thanks for sharing.

Congrats on your marriage. I wish you guys many more. I've been married almost 15 years. Time has flown by and couldn't ask for anyone any better. I'm bull headed no doubt and we both respect each others opinions. It's not easy by no means but I heard this saying about 10 years ago and I try to approach my marriage and live my life by this: Those who are flexible don't break.

Congrats again and keep racking up the years together.

Hey Maury,

Patricia and I will have 49 years together under our ever widening belts this year. Wish you could come to Louisville, I know how you love to convoy. But I also know that long travel distances can be taxing. More on this later.

Congradulations on reaching this plateau on your way to the big 60, so start saving, the traditional gift will be a yellow diamond.

All the best,

Pat and Patricia

Denise and I will be celebrating our 7th in April. For some reason she wouldn't agree on getting married on my commissioning date with the Navy,.....01 April. I don't know why.

I feel so young only 39 years for Karen and I. Three daughters and 7 grand children.
In Louisiana after 35 years you get a one year renewable license.
She is a great gal to put up with me for this long.

Thanks all. It gives an old man a big boost to hear that there are so many other happy marriages out there. Just listening to all the stories in the news, you begin to think that lifetime commitments were a thing of the past--but looks like the media is wrong ;). I really want to make one more trip to a get-together before the kids try to ground me from making long trips. Just installed the All Vehicle On-Star--now they can find me when they get worried. They don't realize that driving a Marauder makes you stay young. I can still hold my own on a drag strip, keep out of the boonies on a road course and turn 150 mph laps in a Nascar Sprint car---I'm not ready to grow old---by the way, Ginny has no problem with my driving---she hasn't driven since the '50s, but is relaxed when riding with me. Keep a sharp look-out for a black Marauder with a hood ornament--who knows where it will turn up:D . We send our best wishes to all you great folks. With great affection, Maury

[QUOTE=cruzer;1132474]Thanks all. It gives an old man a big boost to hear that there are so many other happy marriages out there.

Who said anything about "happy"?

(In case my wife is reading this over my shoulder, I'm kidding, of course.)
