A rare day when everything was running and clean; here are a couple of pics of my toy collection. My newest project is the 73 shorty van, hey it passed inspection last week so plates (finally) next week!

Thanks guys; fyi those vans like that (Ford/Chevy/Dodge) are dirt cheap nowdays and fairly easy to find on craigslist everywhere. Most Ive seen for between $1000-$1500 and parts are not too hard or expensive. Im keeping mine empty on the inside for carrying the hounddog around or whatever so it will be fairly practical. Cheap fun.

I used to own a 73' Ford Econoline Shorty Van. Had a 302 and 3 on the tree. That thing hauled ass, until it got rear ended and totaled :mad:

Yeah Mike, same van, I bought it and cleaned it up. Still doing little stuff to it but all in all, cheapo fun.

Man I love that van!! I'd buy that in a heartbeat. But I think my wife's heartbeat would have to stop first for me to buy one.

On a side note. What's up with the gas meter by the end of your driveway? Why is it not near the house? I have never seen a setup like that.

Thats the way all the gas lines are put in up here in the Dallas area for some reason. Its ok as long as nobody hits it! Re the van, just look on your local craiglist, there are tons of vans for sale for cheap. Frankly you could buy any cargo van in decent shape (Ford/Chevy/Dodge) for around $1500, add an $300 Earl Schieb paintjob, throw on a set of wheels and tires for a few hundred and have a pretty neat, useful toy to play with.

These were the two that caught my eye a few months back. Just purring in the fast lane at 80. The second one is newer obviously but the paint and detail work was outstanding.

As I'm sure you have or had at one time a copy of the national gas code book Tom. isn't simply amazing how installing a gas service or anything to do with gas doesn't require a license and the book is only 1/4" thick? AMAZING

Just my Illinois Plumbing code book is 3"! Not including the ADA handicap book...
