No, I mean I typed in 'dash radio mounts' and, after selecting Havis as vendor, this site popped up.

Well, you could, but..... it is a nice feature if you should ever get kidnapped and thrown in the trunk. Short story..... My cousin, was kidnapped, r_a_p_e_d and thrown in the trunk of her car, then the car was set on fire, had there been a device to get out of the trunk, she would most likely be alive today. Yes, the mope was caught, 15YO, did 6 years, gotta love justice.

My advice, buy the plates, and keep a handgun in the trunk, I do, in all my cars.

Something else worth considering is the trunk button inside IMO. I have the trunk plates because of the police video showing thier need. However I alsorealize that the trunk release button on the drivers door is always hot. While it can be locked not many do I would imagine. I need to start locking mine at the least, but just something to consider.
-Spectragod - sorry to hear that, that is among many reasons I have something special in my trunk...as well as person.

+1. Can be a PIA having to use the key all the time or remote but well worth it in the long run. A little bit of a hassle but peace of mind.

I'll take peace of mind!

Slade that seller is good to go, I think they were slow with my order for my CV from them (already got a free set for my MM, but didn't feel right trying to get another free set) but they came after calling them and they had them for a good price. Arrived in good shape.

Glad to hear. I think I will grab a set from them. $11 is a small price to pay to prevent a potentially huge loss.
