If they gave it a rear end I would like it more.

Unfortunately, I read that the new Lincoln is once again sharing the platform.

Fusion looks like a great car, but if I'm spending more bucks for a Lincoln, I want a Lincoln.

Not surprised that Lincoln's sharing the basic platform, but I hear they've got different engines lined up for it.

Like the looks of the new Lincoln a bit better than the Fusion, but both are pretty sharp looking cars.

Engineers benchmarked the Audi A6 for panel gaps and fitment, and Mercedes-Benz cars (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/newreply.php?do=newreply&noquote=1&p=1134147#) for interior materials quality. 44mpg im in

Side view looks a lot like a Hyundai Sonata to me.
But I like it.

Still waiting for the full sized, rear drive, V8 powered Lincoln Town Car replacement. Yes, I've settled in for a long wait...

If the car had continued to be a strong seller, maybe it would still be produced.

The goal of a corporation, such as Ford, is profitability.

Lincolns were bought mostly by the limo companies, Crown Vics by the police and taxi drivers, Grand Marquis by the senior citizens, so what was Ford to do?

I hated to see the platform die, but I can understand why.

Circle of life.

Gotta agree, 30 year old platform that would have required major retooling to upgrade to meet Fed regulations, etc. Would have loved to see it stay on, but like you said, "circle of life."
