I've been in contact with Amazon tuning about giving me a 2nd opinion on my current tune. One of the things I need to do is data log my A/F but I'm not sure how to do that. Has anybody done any data logging use a AEM wideband guage?

You have an SCT Xcal 3 I take it? If so, you need to take the extra pair out of the AEM and solder them into a firewire cable that will plug into the sct tuner for datalogging. You then need a laptop with sct livelink on it and a USB cable from the SCT tuner to the laptop. Here's some good datalogging tips: http://www.tricktuners.com/data_logging_info.htm
Here's the wiring for the firewire cable:

Wow!!!! Super cool site Thanks. I have a xcal2. Does the xcal3 have more then one way to connect to a laptop. The wire that I modify to connect to the gauge is the same wire that connects to the laptop. So if I data log the a/f I cant connect to a laptop?

Crap. You have an Xcal2. You need a 9 pin mini din cable to plug into the xcal and you wire in the output wire (White wire I believe) on the AEM to the #1 analog in in the picture. If you have one Wideband O2 sensor, you only need one analog connection and the ground. The ground on the cable should be grounded to the same point as the AEM.

This is for an LC-1 hookup, but, you can get the ideas related to your setup: http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/resources/Xcal2_tutorial.php

Ok...thanks. That picture jogged my memory. I forgot about the mini din. I currently don't have my xcal with me. Doesn't seem to difficult?

Some day I would really like to comprehend a tuners language.

I know...with it being such a critical part of the equation it sucks not understanding it. I'm doing my best now to figure it out. After my eaton swap my final numbers where achieved with 15 degrees of timing and 12.5 afr. Which of course my tuner said was "safe"

The more research i did gave me some doubts. Zack said he's never been able to go more then 13 degrees. The mach1 guys talk alot more about timing then we do and I found a few at 15 but most 11-13 range. Whats scary is my tuner said just bring it back in a couple of weeks and we'll bump it up 50 more hp by adding more timing. I have 2 tuners in my area that tune fords and this is the one that came highly recommended. I called the other one and he seemed to think the numbers were fine.

I don't know what to think I just don't want to blow up my engine.

I thought about calling Libio and see if he would sell me a caned Triolgy tune which we know is "safe" and would also solve my trans tune issues.

??? 12.5 isn't safe for a blown car. That AFR needs to be richer than that. Stock block? How many psi? Centri or Roots? Trilogy kit? What was your last dyno at and do you have the sheet you can post up?

Yes Stock Block. Don"t have a boost gauge but tuner said about 10psi (stock upper and LFP #2 lower). Eaton Swap. Trany lasted 8 days maybe 400 miles very little WOT. Having fun getting on the Freeway other then that just normal driving. After the first day I used the xcal and subtracted 2 degrees of global timing. When I would go WOT the a/f on my wideband was high 10s low 11s. Thanks for your help.

Whew! Your dyno sheet actually shows an AFR of sround 11.5. Which is more along where it should be. I'm sure a little more can be squeezed out safely. The timing may be less than he stated. It should be more around the 400, 410rwhp range at 10psi.

I was getting the 12.5 A/F from the middle(MAX) column. I confirmed the timing number with the Aeroforce Gauge. It would show 15 at WOT.

HP seemed a little low to me also...I'm wondering if my transmission was on the way out during the dyno.

Looking at the dyno I only see a small spike to 12.5 which can be corrected by your tuner otherwise is good.
On the timing subject, the cold weather has a lot to do with it.
Example my tuner set the timing at 12.5 that day it was 80* outside.
On 50* outside my car runs 15-16* of timing with no pinging at all

Ok.....thanks. Do you run different tunes in winter/summer?
