Has anyone had their 2004 mm idle for over 30 Mins? I have had trouble with the car Idle where is seems to be missing and then the check engine light comes on.
the dealer thinks but is not sure that the mass air senser is bad and has one on order (backordered till feb 10). when this happens the car shakes form the idle it is so bad.

The car should idle a long as you want with no light. The light means the computer has found a malfuntion. The dealer shouldn't be guessing. The diagnostic computer should tell him its the MAF sensor (or anything else in the system). Any problem with the MAF and the idle and drive characteristics will be substanially changed.

Did the dealer indicate what the code he got? I don't see a MAF causing a miss at idle.

The dealer isn't guessing, and I should know.
I'm the dealer.
True, our service department has been instructed by Ford Motor Company's technical hotline to replace the MAF. What was omitted is that this is only a small portion of the much larger repair procedure that has been given to us by the engineers at Ford.
The part is on national backorder, and is ordered on a dealership's highest priority order (emergency warranty order, unit down), even thought the unit is driveable.
If you do business with a dealer who would disregard the the specific repair instructions of Ford's technical field service engineers---knock yourself out! But, you're taking your Marauder to the wrong dealership.

Nope no problem with mine, just curious why would you have your engine idle for 30 mins? Or does the light come on after 30 mins of run time?
Just curious whichever sounds like Your Dealer is on the ball.
