Saw an ad for an electric water pump in MM&FF anybody have one? And are the claims of 11 Hp on a modular engine true? www.meziere.com
Also has anybody looked into upgrading your alternator (to a higher current output) to compensate for the lower output caused by underdrive pulleys?

I looked into this myself a while ago, and yes, most surely, the 11 HP is there, maybe more. However, this conversion is not recommended for street applications. Typically, electric water pumps are always "on" and circulating a constant flow regardless of RPMs. This could cause cooling system complications sufficient to say it's not a good idea for the daily driver.

Regarding low voltage from underdrive pullleys, I suppose you could spend the money, but I haven't found a reason to...Yet.

I don't have undies installed on my KB #1x, but I had Gen 1 and Gen 2 pulleys from Dennis on my first MM. I monitored voltage for a two week period with my Davis CarChip EX and noted no threatening low voltage dips. My voltage was a consistent 14.+ and that dropped to 13.+ under WOT when the altenator clutch slips. The lowest it dropped at any time in the two week test, was 12.1v at a 500 RPM idle. I had to manfacturer these conditions to verify that my data collection could report low voltage. I had everything on, in gear, foot on brake and open/closing two windows all at once.

I believe the ECM throws a code at 10v. or less. On one road trip to Indy, I got a low voltage light, and the voltmeter showed 8-9v. It was a loose wire, and everything was good to go. Once I got home and read the chip, it showed a 10.1 low.

If you're having problems, like slow cranking, ect, get that checked out? Some of us see flickering lights, some do not. I noticed my lights flickering at a standing stop before the undies were added, so, I never paid that much attention to that afterwards. I'm not sure of this, but I've always suspected that the altenator clutch slips at idle as it does WOT. Anyone?

I like my CarChip EX, but I'm hoping the next gen Superchips tuner which will permit live monitoring. It gets tiresome pulling the chip and downloading to my PC, and I'd like to have the data ASAP.

UDP will give you at least 10-12 or more HP. It is the best bang for the HP buck. Overall electric power or charging is NOT significantly affected by the UDs. But, the best improvement is the quick reving of the engine. It is very noticable and greatly improves acceleration. This is especially apparent at highway passing speeds.
