Does anyone make a fiberglass chin spoiler.
Would not want one of these,as it would prolly get busted up real quick. Better off going with the Mach 1 chin spoiler as it has some "give" to it.

Not that I know of, plastic is better to have just in case you too far up to a curb the plastic one will bend back into shape, fiberglass one would be done at that point.

Yep. I'm on my second one, and the wife touched a curb with it again. Not too bad though. I like the spoiler alot, and I'm very picky.

Mine was in perfect condition until someone needed lipstick at the CVS down the block from our MV9 hotel. I brushed the parking curb because for some reason only in PA it has to be 2ft off the ground  and put a few scratches in it.
The chin spoiler always attracts attention at car shows I think it compliments the front end and gives it a more aggressive look.

It will make you back into parking spots more often. I Know, thank goodness it has a little give.

Would love to put one on my Marauders, but in New Orleans they would be garbage pushers and pot hole cleaners. 4X4's bottom out around here.

I hear they create whistling or howling noise at highway speed, anyone find this true?

Yes, I have it. It's not horrible, but it's there.
Incidentally, I was working on a fix today. I removed the two small spoiler things by the tires. Didn't work. Oh well. The good looks of the thing supercede the whistling sound.

As long as its not obnoxiously loud, i can deal with it.

Yeah they can whistle. Its only noticeable at highway speeds next to a wall. Otherwise you won't really hear it during normal driving.

How much more is it to have it sent in a proper sized box, un-folded? The folds leave everlasting ugglys on the piece.

Can it be painted?.. DTR?

I definitely wouldn't paint it. The piece is very flexible and is low enough that it is very easy to scrape.
I'm personally on the fence with mine. I installed it and liked the look but it was a little bit wavy. Wavy enough that it bothered me so I pulled it back off.
Looking under the front bumper the bottom of mine is definitely sagging a bit in the middle since there is no support there. I suspect that may be the cause of the waviness I experienced.
I am going to fix the sag then reinstall the chin spoiler to see if that cures it.

Through ford you can order it unfolded but you'll pay a lot more for shipping and the dealer cost.

A flex agent can be added to paint.
Did you put on the molded plastic OEM type that come shipped in a box from Ford?

Agreed but even flex agent has its limits.
Yup, mine is an OEM one that I purchased from Ray the Dealer back in the day. Don't get my previous post wrong, the waviness wasn't horrible but it was enough to bother me.

I've never heard mine make any noise but I don't hear much over my exhaust anyways. Mine is wavy in the center where I have caught a few curbs, I'll fix it one day when I have a few hours to use my heat gun on it.
On a SB I think they look great because there is a nice contrast between the paint and the lower side dark plastic trim, adding the chin spoiler extends that contrast to the front.
