The 6" sub is in the grey/black plastic box the amp is bolted to.

Mine isn't but I have no clue where the sub enclosure is, the amp I remounted and is powering a 12" sub for right now.

I thought about doing that.
How do you like that set up?

I took mine out and went with a 12" Crossfire sub and amp. The pre- made box was about the same size as factory and fit exactly in the same location as the factory one. Rear view camera in the trunk keyhole is cool. Watch cars close in on you on the highway read your plate and then back off.

It's just enough bass fill in. I had an old Radio Shack 12" sub that I think is 200 or 250 watt max which RMS is half of that. I put the sub into a build it yourself sealed box from Wal-Mart. It has done the job just fine for the pass 4-5 years but now I want louder so I can actually hear and feel the music over my exhaust. lol
The factory amp is suppose to be rated at 100 watts but I think it's more around 30-40 watts maybe 50 with max volume. I think with a single 8 or 10" sub in a ported box it would make more bass and with being a smaller sub it will be a little bit tighter bass as well.
The sub cost me like $40 about 10 years ago and spent $20 on the box. No more rear deck chatter/vibration, just a little thump from the trunk.
