Today I start my 7th year with my Marauder! Yipee! lol
It was when I read the below article in late 2002, I knew about the Marauder coming out and that I knew I wanted one. I had admired the Impala SS and LT1 cop Caprice back in the day.
http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=62031&page=5 (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=62031&page=5)
Having always admired old school American muscle cars (chargers, GTOs, Chevelle SS, etc) and vintage big block police cars (Dodge Polaras, Dodge Monacos, Plymouth Furys, Ford Galaxies, Ford Customs, etc.), I knew the Marauder was the car for me. And I needed something more reliable and newer than my box vic 5.8 (11 to 17 miles per gallon sucked too).
I couldn’t afford one until February 11, 2006 after starting a new job in California. I found out then that the car was unfortunately discontinued a few years earlier, but I remember having to look at carmax and autobytel for used Marauders in my area. I remember a lot being available but all had somewhat high mileage for a car 3 years old. But commutes tend to be long here in California. I settled for one at Future Ford of Concord (stay away from this stealership!). I paid way more than I should have for a 50,000 mile Marauder but 124,500 miles later it was well worth it and its still going strong.
I’d upload the photo with my Marauder those 6 years ago, but it was a bad hair day. lol
Sure, I did the o-ring EATC repair, BCM, the 100,000 spark plug change myself (all with the help of reading MM . net), countless BFGs tires, have that hole developing in the driver seat, hood needs new paint, got curb rash, got the bumper sag (put the Progaurd on too late I’m afraid), door armrest separation, and now I need the blend door actuator replaced. But overall, the car is still in good shape and runs great.
And I still haven’t installed my Lidio tune (tried the Superchips 1725 way back when and noticed no difference so had to go Lidio). I still have my Addco rear swaybar in the closet as well as my DB electrical alternator. Probably got a few more things in the closet for this car that I can’t think of right now. And its been frustrating but I ordered the Vortech back in August with my severance package when I got laid off but only got the intercooler and some other misc parts so far due to back order.
Wish me luck in many more happy miles! These cars were built to last (if my unknown miles box vic is any indication).

Almost forgot, I also have the cooling mod tucked away in the closet somewhere. And I did finally have new brakes put on at 120,000 miles.

Chop chop on that Lidio tune. It would be like getting a paycheck and not cashing it. Just to throw it away.

An order from August? WOW I don't need to know where from...

That blows my mind.

Otherwise congrats on keeping the car!

Goodluck on the Vortech kit but Don't wait too long I'd give him a deadline to deliver or refund you the money!

Congrats on 7 years! The only car I have owned longer than 5, was my 94 SHO.

It has only been a little over two years that I have had Marauder, and only a little over 1 with the current DPB.

As for a 6 month wait from a vendor ... I could never pay for something like that and wait that long. I would be asking for a refund with interest. You are a better man than me.

Celebrating another year with the Marauder!
I got 142,000+ miles now.
Still running strong , except had the one cylinder head replaced some time ago as some of you remember. Still a bit peeved about the DR Vortech kit but someday I’ll get around to finishing finding missing parts for the kit and then an install at AED. But other than that, all is well. Hadn’t washed the Marauder in some time so finally got the Marauder washed. I know this is a Marauder forum, and you all have seen a ton of Marauder pics, so I also got the Crown Vic washed while I was at it which I did take pictures of below to share:

Here is a photo of the new trunk mat I just bought. I like it. I didn't get a chance to lay it in the bottum of the trunk yet since I have to get a bunch of stuff out of the trunk first, lol. But for now I laid it on top.

I'm starting year 10 driving a Marauder. I bought my 03' back in 05'. Sold it a few years later because the paint was coming off. Picked up my 04' in 08'. Still have it, still love it.

Mine is 13 years old and I've owned it for 12.5 years. It sat on a couple dealers lots for 6 months. Very few people were even aware of the Blue ones back then.

yep, coming up on another Marauder-a- versary. 12 years total. Still wouldn't want another car. But if I had to get a new car, I'd probably get the Lincoln Conti or a four door F-150. Or if I was cheap again, I'd get another base Versa with no options.

I bought my current Marauder in 2010, so coming up on 8 years.

But, the four door F150 with a 3.5 ecoboost ... That is a hoot to drive. That is my daily driver now and it is almost as quick as the Marauder. 6 second, 0-60 and mid 14's stock for a 1/4 mile times.

Yes, it was a Lloyds. You have to pick Grand Marquis though since they don't list it for the Marauder.
