Looks like a little Nu-Finish and elbow grease and you would be the hit of the local car show. I havent seen one as original or in this good of shape in decades.

1. Buy it.
2. Leave the exterior alone faded paint and all.
3. Send the rear wheels to Weldcraft for widening.
4. Transplant a Northstar V8 behind the front seats driving the rear wheels.
5. Tint the rear window.
6. ???
7. Profit.

There's something you don't see every day. Who'd-a-thunk that car would be desirable at any point in time?
Are those faux louvers on the rear 1/4's??

Re the louvers, thats the way they came and yeah, they were around $1995 because I bought a new bug for the same price. I actually looked at a new Vega and they were nice looking little cars, too bad the motors were pretty prone to overheating and meltdown. Re dropping a V8, nope, thats why I like this one. Probably 90% of the Vegas left have 350's in them, you never see one with an original motor. When they were new you could get a notchback coupe, a fastback, a wagon or the panel wagon (my fave). Im not going to buy this because Ive got my van project going but every day I see something cool on CL that I think "if only I had the big Butler building on a couple of acres..." Looks like all this one needs is some shining up and a JC Whitney ornament removal.

I had a 73 SS Vega, wagon. Yes they did make SS Vegas. Cosworth engine, 4 speed. Was the reason I stopped buying GM products. Had alot of trouble with it. Only buy FORD products since then. Silver with houndstooth interior.
