Which is best bang for the buck. The vortec/eaton kit or piecing together an eaton swap from a cobra? The kit idea I like bc everything is included but the install.

IMO, Eaton swap is the best bang for the buck. If you're patient and are good at shopping around and/or wheeling and dealing on parts, you could get everything needed for between $3,000 and $3,500. If you have a decent shop, tools, and mechanical skills, you can do the install yourself, and you'd only be looking a $100 or so for minor welding and fabbed stuff, and another $250 - $300 for a good dyno tune. That adds up to less than $4,000 for around 400 - 450 rwhp.
My set up, with all parts, installation, and tune was just under $4,500 and that's giving me around 425 rwhp as I sit right now.

I inquired about the Trilogy right before Justbob and I did my wife swap........... Ummmmmm I mean Eaton swap;)
The Trilogy was $7600 shipped to my door. I just couldn't fork over the coin for that T-kit.
So instead I choose the Eaton swap. I payed just over $4,000 for parts (most were new parts) and a dyno tune. The extra money I saved from not buying the T-kit I bought Wilwood brake kit, SS brake lines, Addco fromt sway bar, Moog endlinks, and shorty headers.
The best part was the spending spree of buying the parts. Nothing like coming home after work to finding boxes of parts every other day for a few weeks.
The time spent with my buddy Justbob building, doing something's our way, and just hanging out till the wee hours of the morning on work days talking like two chicks on the phone is priceless.
Plus I just love the look of a blower on top of the motor than I do on the front. So for me. It was a T-kit or Eaton swap.
If you and/or a friend have the skills and like to really learn about our motors and boost. Go with a DIY Eaton swap. Take the extra money saved from not buying a centri kit and upgrade your brakes to go along with the added power!!
And buy some swaybars and rear control arms too.

Now that he has a lift in his garage, he can do even BIGGER wife swaps!

The advantage of the Eaton is almost all the parts are OEM and were made for a larger customer base, meaning replacing/servicing them in the future is more likely than other options.

Supply issues with the DR Vortech kit; until resolved means you will be sourcing parts for any sc setup. With the Trilogy no longer in production. The price we pay for a specialty car. Eaton seems the way to go if not in California.

All S/C's are great, However IMO eaton swap is the way to go for many reasons for me the largest being the fact UPGRADE,UPGRADE Change blowers it gives you many, many options to swap to something diff within the roots family. Besides the only kit offered anylonger is DR Vortech but like others mentioned thats becoming a problem to get.

Well is MOs kit complete ready to ship or? If so awesome a complete air to air kit with an s-trim head unit and all accompanying pieces saves the less patient individual from sourcing all those pieces.

Would you sell a kit ($4995) and ship parts without having the buyer pay? I dunno;( I could understand not being able to purchase but not get a complete kit for 5-6 months that you paid for? What kind of business practice is that?

this is nothing new.
for this reason and this reason alone
go with a DIY kit, eaton swap will be the easiest. let me know if you got any questions about the swap.

I ordered the DR kit back in August because I needed something 50 state legal. I paid in full and still have not received a number of major parts. I'm still waiting and I admit I'm starting to get frustrated. Last I heard from Dennis the pipes shipped out sometime last month. But still haven't received those.

People waiting for parts, crappy customer service, strange undercoating on an owners car etc etc.
I'd put this in my car

before I would even consider DR to breath on my car.

Uh they shipped from China maybe!! I think others answer the question you ask about what supply issue:shake: Hell the guy I bought my 03 from years ago with his kit had countless nightmares when he purchased his kit. Not really sure how you can run a business in this manner. Not to mention other members cars.

With the Trilogy kit no longer available, and the Vortech "ready to install" kit having some issues with lead times, Eaton swap still ranks real high on the list as "most bang for the buck" IMO.
In addition, upgrading to a Whipple or KB is an option once you've completed the basic Eaton swap.

A Novi head unit I beleive Will work.
As for s/c options another would be a cobra Vortech kit & just have to do some modifying. maybe now is the time for me to be talking with a friend of mine about a Turbo kit?

Some things never change. I hope it works out for you and you receive the balance of your order, soon. If not, perhaps see about making a claim with your credit card company, if that's possible at this point, as the kit should be shipped complete. At the very least, the order should be completed long before now. Those pipes are not hard to make, at all.

What is it when you purchase an item by paying for it and then are told it's on back order? If it's on back order then why are you paying for something that is not there? How can you purchase something that is not there?
A number of businesses obtain your CC info and then charge you when the item is shipped.
Charging your CC when there is no item to purchase is ......? What are you purchasing? A line of credit for the Business to use to purchase and sell items that are there for others?
Why allow a Business to use your credit and cost you interest for them to use to sell products to others that are not on "Back order"?
