Thank you! Thats just like the guy who found 50,000.00 in his attic while doing remolding. He gave it back to orig home owner who sold him the house 5yrs prior. He said he wanted to show his children a lesson in honesty? Iam all about honesty but the old saying what you dont know cant hurt ya. That would 25,000 in mods and the rest in my savings acct. LOL would that be so wrong

Being a lawyer Id like youre take on that Marty! U think if that guy takes it to court he'd have a chance to get some of that $$$ back? I wouldnt think due to his disclosure on item sale. It just seems like some judges side with stupid..

The seller's best argument would be "I made a mistake."

I think in court that argument would lose. The buyer bought a "pig in a poke" and the seller sold just that.

The only mistake the buyer made is telling anyone. :D His whole windfall is taxable at the state and federal level as a gain.

You are so right about that Marty.
The guy had disclaimers in his original post.
I don't he has a chance in hell of a Judge ruling in the sellers favor.
As to the Buyer. He should have keep his B I G mouth shut.
To coin a phrase from the Honeymooners.

Paraphrasing the seller:

"I didn't bother to check my product, but now that it's more valuable than I thought when I sold it, I want more money."

Yep, genius.

I wonder if, when selling, he first thought "hah! What a sucker! Buying a pretty much useless safe for $122! I so took that guy."
