first forgive me for the rookie question, i am new to the marauder.:depress:

Just don't know why you'd want to put a SOHC engine in.

stock engine is pretty stand out, also geared toward torque. 0-30 biggest problem. If anything you need MORE torque not less.

It's a 3v.

It's a much better engine for a Marauder than the 4v as it makes as much power as the 4v and is would also be lighter. The swap would require a complete engine/trans harness and computer. Then you would have to figure out how to connect it to your dash cluster.

Still SOHC! :D All the lobes are on one cam, but, yes, 3v and that's why it had more oomph! I still think it would be easier for the OP to find or have built a nice DOHC motor. Unless he's got a hell of a deal on this I suppose.

You will need the PCM from that 09 Mustang and the wiring harness, gas pedal and a few other trinkets. You may need to alter the fuel system being the 05+ Mustangs have a returnless one. You can opt for the FRPP conversion wiring harness that comes with PCM and drive by wire gas pedal, the only other thing you will need is a separate driver to run the transmission. Would be an interesting swap especially being all the superchargers for 05+ Mustangs are driver side inlet.

Stock for stock the 3v is a better option for the MM, but the 4v can be made to make tq where it's needed as opposed to where it makes it in stock form.

Actually, the stock computer will control it if you lock the cams and use the MM TB.

i wouldnt put a 3V in a marauder, you will end up spending more $$ at the end of the day.
search around, i have seen mm or 99-01 cobra engines go for around 2 grand with less than 70k miles.

That would defeat the purpose of putting in the 3v.

That's the Trilogy supercharger that was designed for the Marauder. Trilogy just stopped producing those at 250 kits. You can buy a used one if one is lucky to find a used Trilogy kit, or the Eaton swap too.
Like mine. :burnout:

Eaton swap will run you between $3,500 and $4,500 depending on how much you shop around for parts and if you do the installation yourself or have someone else do it.
FWIW, that'll give you a heck of a lot more performance than swapping to a 3V motor.

The Trilogy (video) or the Eaton from a 03-04 Cobra can be used on a stock MM motor. Mine is a stock MM motor along with hundreds of other owners using stock MM motors.
Best bang for your buck instead of a 3V motor swap.

Swapping the 3V complete with the VCT is completely overshadowed by the 5.0 TIVCT. Seems that swapping in either VCT system is about the same work.
A locked out 3V is not a good swap for a 03-04 DOHC, replacing a SOHC sure that's a good deal lots of 96-04 Mustang owners swapping 3V as you can get em used decent prices now.

If from air filter to oil pan, then "yes" I would buy that DEPENDING on price because it is a direct swap sans tune.

Buy the longblock, do an Eaton swap, enjoy the heck out of it.
