View Full Version : Do You Own A Marauder 03'-04' ?

Our forum boasts of over 1400 registered members, I think it would be nice to know how many actually own a 2003-2004 Marauder. Please participate it would be useful to know what percentage of total sales we represent.

Don't own one as of yet ... can't really afford it right now.

I was kind of holding out for DTR & the factory moonroof anyway ...

But as it turns out ... you can't even tell the difference on the outside the way they chose to do the roofs(aftermarket vs factory).

So ...

I guess if anybody wanted to trade a nice black 300B( I could add an ASC moonroof to) ... for BOTH an 8K mile 92 Mark VII LSC & a 58K mile 97 Town Car Cartier ...

I could probably be persuaded at this point.

Hey, I guy can dream right ?.

Thank you to all that have participated so far.
Please if you are not an owner take the time to vote no . Not only can we find out how many Marauders we have, but also what percentage of the total forum they represent.
The poll is a simple yes or no, it is private. The greater the total participation the more meaningful the results will be.

Thank you to all, Javier.:D

Well, now we have an idea how many owners visit the forum on a regular basis, I was hoping to break the 200 mark in 3 days, I know that there are many owners out there that visit ocassionally and those votes will trickle in.

It would be dissapointing if after a month there are less than 200, I know some folks just plain don't like to vote on any poll, but this one is not an opinion poll, is just yes or no. So please participate and give us all an accurate Marauder count. Thanks.:)

You are not charged with a simple task young Gordon, this weight will become heavy to you soon. Yes, you are eight of ten "signature" editions, but you will always be one of the twenty-five. Draw arms, you are a Knight of the Kenny Brown table now. Take her highness Ladyhawke in your arms, and protect her always!

Kids...Don't do this at home.

Welcome Kirk, I am very pleased to see the #1 MM here. Last 6 digits of your VIN please?

Now I do not doubt your claim for a second, Kirk, considering your stated location, and the people I have met from that neighborhood over this past year. I know the #1 car is out here somewhere, despite what others have posted here.

Just so you know, I'm asking only for my own curious reasons, please feel free to e-mail that 411 at SergntMac@aol.com, it will not travel further, I promise. I know where the 600045 car is at today, and it's the earliest MM I have been able to trace. Where are you, VIN-wise that is? Please?

BTW, I'm a #1 too, #1x to be precise. Nice to have you on board, Kirk, hope to hear more from you.

Don't get me wrong. I do not own the first car built. I'm told that Bob Tasca owns it. I own the first car SOLD. I am told it was #82 built. I purchased the car on June 6, 2002. I have confirmation from LM that this was the first car delivered. Two more were sold on June 7 and it goes up from there. Mine was the only car to go out the door on the 6th. VIN ends 609391.

I took the poll and answered honestly - No, I don't own one right now. :(

But, TJH and his wife are taking good care of the one I did own, and I am 99% sure there is another Marauder in my future... It helps when the kids are on Dad's side, and say, "Come on, Mom, can't Dad get another Marauder?"

Only three questions to answer:
1) New or Used
2) DTR or Basic Black
3) Which Dealer can give me the best deal in SE Michigan?

Between now and July, I plan to re-join the owners club, and can take the poll again, boosting percentages!

Tomorrow, 2/9/04 around 8:00 am (EST). will mark the end of the first week of this poll. Some early observations, it seems we have far less owners than I anticipated, also I think that the non-owners are either not bothering to read this post or are less likely to vote than the owners.

The current total vote is less than 200, I believe that actual No's are higher than the voting reflects. The poll has a little over 7 weeks to run and I will post an entry at the end of each week reflecting that weeks totals.

Thank you all for your participation.

Well, maybe you can add another owner but it may have a technicality. I try to keep my grandpa informed on the latest Marauder news from this site and he did purchase a Marauder early this year. But, grandpa is 82 and I don't believe he has ever touched a computer so he himself won't be posting. However, if he did post he would be known as Retired Man.

Don't own one but am seriously thinking about it. I owned 2 SHO's one 5 speed one auto, if the MM really has 300 hp than it should be a fun car as even with only 220 hp the SHO was fun (exept for the FWD).

Go for it. The ear to ear grin will be permenant :D

I have to admit I thought there would be far more owners, maybe if this poll would stay at the top of the threads, I don't know how to make it so.....Logan ?

I started this poll on 2/2/04, it will end this Fri. 4/2/04.
Some thoughts on the current numbers:

The majority of the people that registered on this forum do not own the Marauder.
The majority of registered members do not like to participate in polls.
The majority of registered members do not frequent this site on a weekly basis.
The members that do not own the Marauder probably ignored this poll, and that is why 90% of people that voted are owners.
This poll did not provide an accurate view of total ownership compared to total registration.
We can conclude that we have a highly motivated and articulate group of members that enjoy this forum on a frequent basis, and that core group is about 300 members strong.

Also and perhaps most significant, this poll shows that you cannot place much faith in any poll of any kind because there are too many variables that can be easily manipulated to make the results reflect whatever you want to prove or disprove.

Thank you very much my friends for participating and hope to see most of you at Indy. :coolman:

Yeah, a little. I fully expected that not all folks are as nutty as me about visiting here almost daily. For that reason I gave it 2 months, I have to admit I am a little disappointed with 300 or so responses, also it is hard to figure how over 3500 views produced such a low response.

Smokie,

Understand your disappointment. However, most cold surveys produce about the same response as yours. Only about 20% of any given group tends to participate for whatever reason. Your survey produced 306 responses from about 1,600 members or right at 19.1%. So, statistically -- you are really on the money and can have a fairly high confidence in the numbers -- the margin of error is probably less than 10% from the sample size.

I do think that you only received response from regular active members. Look at the "views" on most of the threads in the Forums and you will see the same trend. Lots of look-sees; but only a few comments.

Good job, and thanks for the survey.

Also remember that a lot of the views are repeated by Members who particapited in the survey. I myself probably viewed it at least a dozen times. I also believe that the people that did vote are the real hard core Members here that participate on a daily to weekly basis and not those that come on here to start trouble or do not frequent the site to often. So in other words I believe the votes you received show the true majority of the Members here, the ones that will be around to the end.

As tstrat99 stated, Thank you!!

Our forum boasts of over 1400 registered members, I think it would be nice to know how many actually own a 2003-2004 Marauder. Please participate it would be useful to know what percentage of total sales we represent.Have one. A 2003 300B blue. But you all knew that it was neither a 2004 nor a 300A. 11,700 miles. Only mods are locks on wheels and window tint. Also, XM radio used through cassette--gotta love old tech blending with new tech.

Javier - The survey was a good idea. I myself have also viewed it numerous times. I believe that the 3 K views were mostly the core group. IMO there are more non Marauder owners on this site than actual owners. Thanks for your effort.

The poll closed to soon. Assuming you can set it so that folks are allowed to vote only once a poll like this should be left open indefinitely so that new comers can vote. :)

Anyway, I have an 03 Blue Marauder. Next week I will try to find out which one in the series of blue cars it is.

Best,

Dan
