What size rear tires are you folks running at the track. How close are u to the 245/55 stock diameter size.

No wonder u run 13's. Run a 13.6 with the Nittos on.

I ran a 13.71 with the Nittos on. Switched to the drag radials and ran a 13.6. That's when I knew something was wrong with my tune after having the exhaust work done, dyno tune and 4.10s installed.
Originally with 3.55 gears I went from 14.25 to 13.72 with a new tune and the drag radials.

What tune did u have with the 13.7
I run 305/45/18's on widened wheels at the track.

That's the size I eventually plan to get when a get another rim since Thats the closest size to stock. Any rubbing?

Not on my car. Some people get it and some don't.
And my widened wheels are for TRACK ONLY!

How much extra hp/tq does the dyno tune give over hand held

Beats me cause when they did my dyno they left the numbers in STD and now SAE. I only did the dyno tune after doing my exhaust system because I wanted to make sure my AFR was correct. A dyno tune could squeeze out a little more power but unless you know you absolutely need it then it's not worth the $400+ it cost for the dyno session.
Once I get my tach issue figured out I may have a local tuner run it on the dyno and see where I am at.

I'm running 305/45/18 M/T Street Radial II's on Steeda 18x9.5 Ultra-lites. I'll be going with 28x11.5/16 M/T E.T. Streets once I get everything else sorted out and have some cash to spare.

Hey, the ratio between STD and SAE Corrected numbers is a fixed percentage. You can easily figure out your gains by multiplying STD numbers by 0.95456, and you'll have your SAE Power. Most of us just use 0.96.
I'd go with the smallest width tire you can get away with while still hooking. Unless you want the look, I'd imagine a 255/265 drag radial will hook just fine with a proper setup.

I did half of my pulls on 235's but prefer to stay closest to stock diameter tire.
but I look at it as, if u run a smaller diameter tire at track yes time will be better but then in reality your car isn't what its says because its not the right diameter size. If I run 235's ill be in 13's already but I don't want to get there that way.

A smaller tire changes your effective gear ratio. There's no difference between changing tire diameter and changing rear end gears. There are obvious reasons for each change, but do not think you're fooling the times. The car is still covering 1320' in 13.x seconds

Yes smaller tire does effect gear ratio so it's like having 3.55 and 4.10s. With smaller tires I ran a mid 14 then change to bigger tire ran 15.x. still buildinh up rpms he'll of a lot faster

Thats what I was saying. smaller tire diameter = lower effective gear ratio (higher numerical number)

255/50-16s. Big tires are for cars that go 3s in 1000'. X275 guys go 4.80s in the 8th on 275s...

255/55/18's on every one of my 13 second passes. Next time I hope to be running 17" drag radials to get a little more gear out of it.
