Here is a guy that I don’t know and will probably never meet that has gone out of his way to help me. Unsolicited I might add. That just doesn’t happen.

I had recently done a Eaton Swap on my Marauder and after the tune the car shifted like crap. I was in OD with T/C lock at about 30mph. Not Fun!!!! My tuner was a major disappointment and I really didn’t want to give him any more of my money. Everybody else in the area was quoting me $700 and wanted to do a complete Dyno Re-Tune.

Out of the blue I get an email saying “I can help” Who Does that? The guy makes me want to be a better person. I’m not sure how or what he did but all I know is my car finally shifts like a DREAM. Just plane AWESOME!!!!!!

I have a modified version of his trans schedule. With the new trans (valve body) I dropped in my tuner modified shift points based on the power curve on the BBS and reduced the line pressure and all I can say its almost OEM like until you hammer it. For a stock setup it's a great tune for those heavily modified the shift schedule is a great starting point. This was very helpful as you will find not many tuners have even worked on Marauders let alone the nuances of our OE tune.

It's a shame he is not still around, this site used to have a bunch of builds documented and explained, but you now have to be PC or your gone so now you get bs items, all the old timers have to admit he has done more engine rebuilds and knows more about the Maraudar than anyone in the country! All I can say is he took the piece of crap "R" off the back of my old Marauder within about 38 seconds of my arrival in Louisville last year, nuff said

My Zack moment, I was having troubles with my MM and instead of going through the :bs: of changing motors and all. I had my MM posted for sale. He called another member motorhead350 :banned: and that member PM'd me with Zacks phone number. I called him and he talked me out of selling the MM and offered to fix it for me for nearly squat if I could get it up to him. He even offered the spare bedroom to me while he was going to fix it. (insert CBT comment). Anyway, ended up having Musclemerc help me out another stand up and :banned: guy.

Maybe it's me or is everyone I'm talking about :banned:.Seems like a trend here. IDK :stupid:

I just wanted to give my warmest thank you for all of your help. This was really something I didn't expect to ever happen ever again. The very fact that you still pointed me in the right direction while still mad at me proved what a big heart you really have. I know it sounds silly, but you are probably the most caring person I have ever met.

You got me back on the road chasing the life I want with 600 horsepower. All of the work done was top quality as I would have expected and there was no one else I would allow to work on the car. Good workers are hard to find, good rates are even harder to find, but someone that is not only a master with their hands, but will inform someone on everything, be loyal and completely honest... I have only met one of those in the 26 years in this mean old world, it's you.

It would be great if more than Chicago SVT knew this about you. All you ever do is help, find tricks and money saving skills. Something the big fish aren't fond of, too bad for them. If they were true business men they would change with the times instead of silencing the voice that calls them out on the B.S.

Last week someone at the shop said I must have thick skin to deal with you. It was said in a half joking matter, but I know that they don't know you completely. Zack, your skin must be thicker than mine to deal with me. Always pushing it everyday. I have learned more from you than any Hot Rod magazine or other life experiences.

Even on a limited budget you still made it work. EVERYTHING! Any other place or person would say "Go big or go home. Here's what we need to do and here's what it will cost." Not you Zack. You knew the budget and made it work. Finding good condition used parts all over the place, even from your own garage!

Coming with me to the dyno not only saved my ass that day, but it proved you knew I still don't know anything about cars, even when I think I do. So you came incase anything went wrong and maybe you just wanted to hangout too. It was a joyful car ride listening to Iggy Pop, D.R.I., The Cramps, The Kinks, Little Richard... exc. I know you can't stand idiots and only a certain breed is ever allowed into your life. I am glad I was accepted... time and time again.

Finally, I was really happy to hear that you might start earning a living as a professional in a garage. That's where you should be, or something higher up. The Performance and or Auto Industry is where you belong. Don't waste your talents and face the fact that most people are selfish, self-centered and have no understanding of how long and costly a project can take. Life is like a car battery, there is always a negative to the positive to get something to work.

In the same breath I don't think a business could stay in business for what Zack charges, I don't think it would meet the min wage standards but Zack is in love with cars and states his mind and if ya don't like it's to bad and go somewhere else as far as he is concerned.

I totally agree about Zack's skills around building/modding our cars, and am proud to call him a friend, but highly doubt that any amount of lobbying will get him reinstated to this site, nor would he come back if given the chance; too much baggage on BOTH sides of the issue.

You may not like the things he says (though dude is funny as hell) but he gives a lot of himself for the cars he works on and he does a damn fine job.
Also that forum allows a little gruffer conversation, so I'd take it with a grain of salt.

But nonetheless if you don't want Zack to work on your car, that just allows him more time to work on others

Really though, as much of a benefit as it may be for the members, I don't think it's as much an issue of admins not letting him in so much as it's a moot point because he doesn't WANT to be here any more, as was mentioned before, too much bad blood to even bother trying to get past it and move on.

I'd welcome being proven wrong on that though, to even have a guy like that just lurk on here and post occasional bits of wisdom he has gained through his work on these cars is worth a great deal to this community, especially new Marauder owners...
