Thanks to Jefferson_Mo I now have the rear spoiler on my MM. IMO this should have come on the car when new. Looks great. :bounce:

Pls tell us which spoiler you got. MM optional one or an aftermarket one?

Good for you, daily... ;)
Tell me, is yours installed almost flat, or with a slight flip up? Better yet, post a pic...

It is almost flat. I would love to post a picture but I don't have a digital camera. I suppose I should get one and catch up with the times. I would rather spend the money on parts for my toys. :)

RF,
Please explain the difference to "almost flat" versus "with a slight flip up".
I have the factory, dealer installed spoiler and am unaware of two different installation positions.
Always seems like the members on this website are much more knowledgeable than any Ford or L/M dealership I've visited the past 35 years.
Thanks,
Jim

Jim...if the dealer installed yours, that's why you wouldn't know...the instruction sheets that come with the spoiler are written in that "universal sign language" style...all drawings and arrows and measurements...no words at all...and no absolute points of reference.
When "eyeballing" the placement of the spoiler before drilling holes, there is a fair amount of vertical leeway...I installed mine almost flat, sort of continuing the line of the trunk lid. I just installed one for Planet Auto, and he wanted it to have more of a tilt upwards...so it's mounted about ½" higher than mine...the one I did for Cooper (formerly Stealth Vic) is in between the two, and is the way I SHOULD have done mine...
...and if you want to see a REALLY bizarre installation, ask Logan for a picture of the way HIS spoiler was first installed...(heh-heh)...it would have made any ricer proud...

Got my FORD Spolier installed almost flat.
Looks good and should have come from the factory.

Logan has come a long way since then. He didn't know any better back then.

RF,
Thanks for the info...would have replied sooner, but there was a huge power failure in a 50 mile radius last night.
My spoiler was dealer installed.
It is mounted in such a way that it is tangent to the upward radius arc of the trunk lid. Looks like a smooth extension of the arc.
Is it possible to slot the mounting holes in the trunk lid for your spoiler so you can "tweak it" to the desired position ?
I'll take you at your word regarding Logan's spoiler...no need to revisit past (from the tone of your post) "old wounds" ???
Just kidding, Logan, no offense intended.

Yah, that's the way mine looks, too...

As far as making the holes oblong to accommodate various mounting positions, there is 3M weatherstripping all around the perimeter of the spoiler. Once it's bolted down, if you dismount the spoiler, you'll have to replace that weatherstripping to remount it...I don't think it would be THAT big a deal, but if you like the way yours looks, why bother...

My point was that if Logan had installed his first spoiler himself, it WOULD have been correct...whoever his installer was obviously didn't read the directions (it was almost vertical!)...if Logan thought I intended offence, I would have been :banned: already, so he must know I was just funnin' him... :D
