Finally getting S/C'd. I Will be getting Napolitano's old set up put in my car by Landy.

I can't wait.. Wahoo :banana2:

I would like to thank both of them so far for the work that they have done so far. Truly a site of family and friends. Napolitano offered it up to me and I couldn't refuse. He new that I was looking to sell my car and get a s/c'd one. He said, you could always put my old set up on your car. It is a win, win situation.

Landy and Levi thanks again :bows::bows::bows:

When I get home for R+R for a couple of weeks in June, I hope to have it complete. That would be icing on the cake. :D

Thanks, Thanks, and Thanks. I'm really looking forward to it. Landy will have a few challenges I'm sure. But, I know it's in good hands. I'm wondering how much more umph it'll have than a stock set up. Any ideas or suggestions?

When I mean stock set up. Wondering about LTH and cobra cams with the S/C. I've been watching the thread on the cams but wondering if anyone has a similar combo?

^^ I would invest in a built shortblock before LT/Cams. Your already going to be in the 400s.

Based on what folks are reporting on Eaton swaps 400-450 depending on combo. Same with Centrifugal SC.

If you're running stock exhaust, a moderately conservative tune, and between 10-12 lbs boost, you can expect between 400 and 425 HP.

Shorty headers, a 2 1/2" mid-pipe and rear cat delete will pick up another 10-15 HP, Going to LT headers and a full 2 1/2" exhaust will get you 25 - 40 HP over stock exhaust.

Beyond that, more boost and more timing will get you more HP, but you're also starting to push the envelope, especially on a stock block.

I think Zack's doing about 475 - 480 on his Eaton swap with a stock motor, but then again, Zack transcends mere mortal status, so one would expect more... ;)

I've already got LTH and all cat delete. Ideally, I would like to change out the Mid pipe for MAX breathing.

With the pulley that levi is giving you will make 12psi at 6400rpms. That and your other mods should give you mid 400's without too much timing.

Car is at Landy's and waiting for a few more parts to come in. I was hoping that it was going to be done when I am home for R+R for a few weeks. But, good things come to those who wait. Now I look forward to taking it for a spin when I get back from AFG.:)

Whoever swap this motor didnt inspect or change the seals. Anyone knows who did the swap? I cant get ahold of David .

How do bad seals cause an engine knock?

Op sorry for bad news. The seals were distorted due to bad inspection upon installation. With a bad seal the oil shoots out the head into the spark plug hole, on a high load it gets into the boot creating a missfire. The car was spun until 5400rpm when we heard a missfire then he imidiately let off and when it came back to idle it started knockin.
That was on the firts pull and it made 404rwhp at that rpm with 11.3 afr across the board

A bad valve cover oil seal shouldnt cause the motor to explode. I have a 658awdhp stealth and same thing happened to me on the dyno. I felt the miss and we shut it down, checked the plugs and found that we had a bad seal over the plug, Replaced the seal and PCV valve which never was replaced and caused to much pressure.

You lost spark or had weak spark which is better then loosing fuel and leaning out.

Maybe a under lying problem

Just my 2cents

ALL, this is not how I expected for this thread to go. It was meant to be a celebration and sharing with the community on MM.net. Not a bashing and finger pointing escapade just because you can hundreds of miles between the facts and your opinion. This was an unfortunate incident that happened. The motor had nearly 110K on it or so. It is Triple Threats old engine that came out of his purple MM. It's not the original engine, the original was changed out a year ago by a good friend helping me out and doing a great job. Another very good friend, is helping me put a S/C in it. By my request, and at my risk of the outcome, I take the responsibility of what happened. He has put in at least ten of these in his life and is one of the most trustworthy, knowledgeable persons that I would ever let touch my car. And trust him with it for the past 4 months while I'm over here in Afghanistan. This one is chalked up to; shatty luck.

For the record, I am extremely happy with the friends I have met on here and continue to have a great relationship with all. :banana2:

That engine, will be the last one put in it. Time to retire it, and move on to another MM. I haven't had a SB or DTR yet. So, now it looks like time to try one.

Mods, I started the thread and would like to end it please. Thank you.
