anyone use one?
I understand Dynojet has one. It apparently logs data along with rpm and throttle position

RC, you should email or message Lidio, he has a dynojet. I know he used the wideband oxygen sensor on numerous dyno tunes he did with my car. He could probably give more info on it, I thought it had to do with fine tuning the air/fuel ratios, but I could be wrong. He welded in a sensor bung into the exhaust just before the cats to insert it for tuning.

A wideband O2 sensor measures AFR only, throttle position and other elements for tuning can be monitored live, but that requires additional tools that most performance dynos don't invest in. Something is coming soon, from Superchips this spring that should give us the ability to monitor all the values in the ECM, and fine tune them too.
Some owners weld an additional bung into place and cap it, others unscrew an OEM O2 sensor in place and replace that with the wideband sensor. Our MMs have four, but only the front two are operational after adding a chip or getting a Jerry tune.
If any of this isn't possible, a 4' long section of copper tubing can be run up one exhaust pipe and clamped into place.
Tuning without wideband O2 data won't give you much to work with. It would be like running the quarter mile and not reading the timeslip. You won't know if you're running lean or rich, or when. Without that, you're not really tuning.

RC:
That's a VERY interesting device--thanks for posting the link! I'm not too familiar with this topic--do we need to buy TWO wideband sensors? Also, how does the wideband sensor's installation apply to those planning a future Kooks/2.5" pipe install? Any ideas on where one might mount the commander module?
Since I've just purchased SCT's ProRacer tuner software (ordered, haven't received it yet), the installation of a Dynojet Wideband Commander now seems MANDATORY! Thanks for any input on the subject. The Dynojet Wideband Commander and Dennis' engine cooling mod are two new things very high on my list now.

I have a Fast sequencial fuel injection system with E-Dist on my 351C Pantera. It uses a wide band O2 sensor to continually tune the AFR loop to maintain either my selectable economy setting, max hp setting or max torque setting. It works great. This is an example of a practicle full time application of a wide band O2 sensor. They come in different cfm and temp ratings. I use only one and assume the exhaust streams of both heads are nearly identicle. At this time the Fast system cannot input two sensors, one per side.

I just got off the phone with Manny at Dynojet about becoming a Dealer for the "Wideband Commander." THis product is not yet shipping, but it will be in the near future. This thing retails at $529.99. If there is interest, I would love to do another group buy for this product. The levels would be 10 or 25 Units discounted accordingly.
I am going to Cross post in my forum to see if there's interest.
Lates!

This DynoJet Wideband looks good! I like.

Don't forget that there is another wideband monitor which is popular for tuning from Innovative Motorsports LM-1 (http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products.php)
The LM-1 can log a few more data points and is cheaper, but looks like an engineers tool and not as pollished.
