Well a few years ago I bought the PIE iPod interface that plugs into the back of the factory radio. Well after years of use the interface works great still.

BUT!!

The interface will only charge the older 12v iPod and not current 5 volt and 30 pin connectors that the new iPods and iPhones use now. Well I came across many "converters" to solve this problem.

So after reading reviews of different products and comparing prices. I bought a converter from CableJive.

And I am super happy to report that now my iPhone charges while playing my music on the older system in my Marauder, still sounds great and it is cheap too.

My IPad stopped charging via AC and is no longer recognized by the computer or ITunes. The only way to charge it is to power it off and plug into a laptop.

I have to make an appointment at an apple store

All of my cars take SD cards or USB flashdrives. Never a problem charging them. They also play music via bluetooth if needed. :D

Lose the apple stuff. I should warn you though, don't attempt to play pandora via bluetooth while running wifi tethering to provide internet access for a laptop, with a phone running windows 6.5. Even plugged in, it was burning juice so fast that it was losing charge. :D
