Hi folks,

I located a spankin' new 04 MM, black, with the 6 CD changer, heated seats and factory installed sun roof (new option) for $29,000.00. Based on your vehicle costs, how's that measure up?

Thanks,

Dave

Rep12 Welcome: You don't state a location?

That price is not bad, actually good.

Retail on that car is about 35xxx.

I just got letter from L&M today telling new Marauder's are $3,000. cash back or 0% for up to 60 months.

Now go buy it and enjoy:):):)

I got my 2003B for 27 even in March of 2003.
I checked every car website for the list of current rebates, not only to the consumer but also to the dealer. That way you know what they are willing to give up.
And don't be afraid to walk out on the salesman if they won't come down in price, you can always threating to take your business elsewhere (or to buy an SSR, GTO, or whatever your preference is).
And one more word of advice buy at the end of the month, they need to sell the cars to make money and avoid paying taxes on them, they are much more motivated sellers at the end of the month.

Sometimes it pays to be an ******* :)

Good Luck

I say $27-28k personally. They're still makin money at $29k. If they want to move it bad enough, they'll sell it at cost.

"A" Plan price on this vehicle is $29,200 with the 3k rebate and every option. If you have a found a dealer that will sell it to you at this price I'd say jump on it. I'm looking at the sheet from the A Plan book right now. I never knew a dealer could sell the car for less than that barring demo status.

There's still at least 1750-2000 worth of wiggle room in there.

That's actually a great price considering it is brand spankin new!!! I got mine dirt cheap because it was a 2003 but still....$29,000 is great!!!

Where are you located? If you're near the NYC area, come to the Yonkers meet on the 21st...hopefully you'll have your new MM by then. :D

Thanks for the imput Marauderites. I'm going use $28,000.00 as my target price. We shall see. I'll probably wait till the end of Feb. to make the deal. And, yes, walking away from a deal is easy for me. That's what I do for a living, make deals.

By the way I'm located on the South Shore in Massachusetts. Home to The New England Patriots - Super Bowl Champs!

The dealer got to $29,000.00 by taking the $500.00 loyalty discount (I own a Lincoln LS), the $500.00 AARP discount and the $3000.00 rebate off list. He also took another $631.00 off the price. I'm paying cash so no zero financing. I think you got a terrific deal considering your using their money.

The reason I haven't puuled the trigger yet is because I want to take a look at the new GTO.

Good luck with your beautiful MM

Well $29000 for a New Marauder, Not bad but like everyone else $27-28 sounds more like it. I was in Fort Laurdale Lincoln Mercury in Florida on Monday and they Had 3- 2004 Marauders, One Black Dealer demo with about 3200 miles on it on sale for $25900 and another Black used one on the lot 2004 for about $24500 & the 3 rd. one was Silver Don't know that price. Keep in mind one thing you can save quite a bit of money and they look great. I bought my 2003 Silver one with only 2010 miles on it in perfect cond. for only $23000. You can save alot of money.

Bought my '03 on the last day of the month and got a good deal. I feel that it made a difference since the dealer became agreeable to my price as the end of the month approached. Negotiated a day or two before and the paperwork was dated the last day of the month. Physically picked up the MM the day after that, which was the first day of the next month.

Hello Rep12,

Take your look at the GTO and compare it to the Marauder.
I think you won't be as satisfied with the GTO as you will with a Marauder,
and you'll be disappointed when you find out what the GTO has,
and should of had.

I've been reading up on the GTO for the last 3 years.
The GTO was my choice vs. the Marauder, vs. the Mazda 6, vs. Mercedes C320 Sport Sedan.
I've been following the new Marauder since 1999,
and I've been following the GTO since 2001.

If you go for the GTO you will pay $MSRP++++!!
Pontiac dealers aren't letting them go for much less.

Then the 18" wheels the GTO was supposed to have,
turned out to be 17" wheels because GM says the ride quality
was affected by 18" wheels. :shake:

Most of the recent reviews praise the car for its handling.
They should because underneath the Holden Monaro shell, it is all CORVETTE Drivetrain! :D

As far as options go, the GTO falls very short. :help:
It isn't nearly as equipped as a basic GAGT.
The only option is MTX.
ATX gets you $1,000 ticket for Gas Guzzler tax. :shake:
There isn't any OnStar in the vehicle either. :shake:

The GTO only seats 4, and can only take maybe one body in the trunk. :censor:

GM spent a lot of time and money to get the exhaust note right for the GTO,
but they forgot about the rest of the GTO.

If you really want a GTO, wait a year or two and let GM finish designing the car.
The 2004 model isn't anything near what it should have been.

Ford spent a considerable amount of time planning out the Marauder,
and I think they did a pretty good job.
The 2003 model does have its quirks, but most of them were ironed out in the 2004 model.

GM has rushed the GTO to put it in place of the now missing Firebird/Camaro.
It still needs a little more refinement, and it needs more toys in the interior.

There still isn't a FULL SIZED Vehicle available, at the price of a Marauder,
that can give you the same feeling in the seat of your pants,
and have all of the equipment a Marauder has.

Good time to buy, especially at sub $30K. As far as GTO going for MSRP because of newness, I, along with some others who had to have the MM right away know that feeling. Got mine in Fall of '02, had to be close to the first one on the block, I'm such a child you know, and paid nearly Sticker for it. $6K down, got me 3.9 APR, they took off enough for the 100,000 mi ESP and knocked about another $1500 off. Not too bad for back then, but not nearly as good as you can do now.

$4,500 in rebates? I only show $2,500 available. Am I missing something? Here in Sacramento, prices are hovering around $32,000...sounds like I definately need to look for some other dealers and bargain elsewhere in CA.

My co-worker, who I greatly influenced in his purchase, just got one for $27,642 out the door!!! (This includes tax and reg.). I think that equates to low $26's for final on car. To his credit, he spent 2 weeks looking online, phoning, and being able to say no. Compared to me, he saved $8000, not too bad.

The dealer has three items they can work with:

Rebate: 3000
Loyalty: 500
AARP: 500

For a total off invoice of 4000

Any less and they are into their approximately 1200 dealer holdback.

For a well optioned vehicle anything below 30000 is a great price!

27642 out the door (incl. T & L) is a fantasy unless this was a demonstrator or a returned car!

Wrong...

There are plenty of incentive programs that Mercury and Lincoln have that you aren't aware of.
My wife and I got $1,000 off the price of our Marauder just because she works in the Heathcare field.
There are also rebates for Civil Service workers.

The Loyalty rebate is only good from Merc -> Merc.
If you go from either Ford or Lincoln to Merc,
there is no loyalty rebate...

You should spend more time schmoozin' with your salesperson,
and maybe he'll give you some of your hard earned
greenbacks back to you.
