From what I hear...everyone says you need to go at least once!
Pretty big "shindig" cars and people. Are you going this year?

Gotta Love It!

You would be crazy not to go. Especially if you live within 4 hours drive....That whole week leading up to the Dream Cruise is awesome. Was well worth the drive from the ATL in 2008 for me. Like the Southern Super Heavy Shootout, its a definative bucket list event inmho:banana2:

Well, it would be with a group of upward of 30-40 other cars, so...I put the feelers out here just to see if anyone was going to chime in with "Woodward is a zoo and I hated it!" comments.

I go every year! its one of the most well known car shows in the world ive met people from Austrialia, canada, france, and all over the U.S.

I gaurantee you will be amazed at the miles of show cars good people and fun you will have, the cruise spans thru several cities, so its a lot to take in.

I have done it more than 5 times in the last 10 years. 3 years with the Marauder group. All kinds of cars and you just have to watch them drive by. Lot of fun and great people to meet and see.

I do not live in Michigan I am in NC now.

Well, it would be with a group of upward of 30-40 other cars, so....

I drove 600 miles in August 2005 to attend Marauderville III (MV3) and the Woodward Dream Cruise (WDC). It was a blast and I highly recommend it.

We arrived on Wednesday afternoon of the event and stayed through until Sunday departure around 12 Noon. The main event at WDC is on Saturday; but the car procession and parade on Friday evening is terrific as well. On Thursday-Friday, we attended an Open House at Trilogy MS, went to the Henry Ford Museum, toured the Rouge Plant and went drag racing at Milan Dragway.

The MCM gang and Trilogy Motorsports was the local club host for MV3/WDC and the Marauder group rented the entire parking lot at the Burger King between 13 Mile Road and Normandy Road (across from Dugan's Irish Pub). We had 300 feet of frontage of prime real estate on Woodward. At one point, I counted 85 Marauders parked on Woodward. There were probably at least 100 in attendance.

If your group plans to attend make sure that you get all the details worked out early .... e.g. hotels, parking, etc. This is a big event with some 30,000 show cars and nearly 1.5 Million in visitors. Parking on Woodward ANYWHERE is at a premium for the main events and lead up times.

Just do it .... you won't regret it !!!

I've been 4 or 5 times. It's a unique experience that every car nut should see at least once. You need to have arrangements to park ahead of time. There is a lot of activity OFF Woodward. Getting around to see things is the biggest challenge. There are busses that run up and down Woodward (remember, this show is 11 miles long). I've always taken a bicycle to get around and see things. Works out real well for me.

Well its safe to say woodward is the coolest car show in the world....haha. You can trust me on this because i have gone every year since i was born seeing as how i live a mile from it. It is about 5-10 miles of packed 4 lane traffic of all cars and trucks that you can think of. The best part is parking somewhere and walking, you will see lots filled with cars like you have never seen before. Its crazy cause you'll go walk to look at one car and find yourself in about 3 hours all the way down the road at a totally different spot. It is just an awesome experience and if you love cars then you are in heaven.

If you are bringing a Marauder, I would probably post up on the MCM site. They have parking spots and a group that meets up for Woodward.

I can recommend Flint's Back To The Bricks also, as an alternative or compliment to the huge traffic jam in Motown. >>> http://www.backtothebricks.org/schedule/index.htm

What are they doing that is different? Sorry Al, didn't see this until today.

Went to the Henry Ford, Rouge Factory Tour, Milan Dragway, and then had a big cookout at a CVN member's house in Romulus. Some of us hit Woodward but none of us stopped to park. Just a few cruises up and down the road...
