Thanks for Speed for telling me about this mount. My Radar detector has sit in my trunk for 2 years brand new b/c I hate wires running all over the place. But now with this mount I wont have that to worry about. The mirror tap connects right behind your rear view mirror and taps into 12vdc. Check out there site for more info....

I've got mine hardwired and on the windshield. Bought a new single suction cup windshield mount. I use it between my MM and Taurus. If I didn't I would go this route.

If I had an escort I'd probably get one of those. Be careful though! I got ticketed by a LEO in NJ for having an obstructed view because of my radar, he said my EZ-Pass was fine behind my rear view mirror out of view but the detector was a violation and it was stuck on right under the mirror. I'll admit it was right between myself and the right front corner of the car.

I currently have my V1 mounted at the top center a bit left of the mirror

If you have a tint strip like this that's the way to doit. Lens right under the tint

No one on this site needs one of those gadgets. We never exceed the posted speed limit. Right......

Yep, the higher you mount it the earlier you'll pick up radar as well.

Although my eyebrow was 1" below the AS1 line and I had to cut it back to pass DE inspection... as you could see...still haven't cleaned up DMV parking lot cut job yet

I have a Blendmount as well. It is really annoying getting it set up the first time, but after that it is very slick to use and keeps you from coming out to find your RD swinging from its power cord.

I use the Escort Live/STI Magnum through my droid and though it is a new system, it looks like it has lots of potential.

Anyone have or know the exact pins to plug into behind the mirror?

Pull the overhead console and tap the lead going into the overhead map lights. Then your tap is hidden in the console. Or, if you are a 'fabricatin' fiend,' put an RJ-11 Jack (http://www.ziotek.com/templates/SearchDetail.asp?productID=151 9) in the console, powered through the map lights, and make a custom-length piece of phone cord that's about 11 inches long that goes from the socket to the detector.

Nate, why not just purchase the mirror wiretap as well...appears to be plug-n-play.

I did purchase the mirror tap. I'm just waiting for that and the mount. I was just asking if anyone used the wire tap behind the mirror if they knew already what pin to tap into there. I can use my meter to find ignition +12vdc anyway.
